The forest legends, Marduk -Update- Battle System

I was talking with the programmer, creating a graphics system and having them act together effectively is something that needs supervision and communication in every detail. Which has been very difficult.
The results are different from my wishes, even when I tell him that this should be the case, he sends me a file with another design. Maybe I sound like a difficult person, but I'm paying the programmer and he's not doing what I say. I resorted to sending him animated gifs with details of the game, and still he he doesn't do it, I did animations, I did different special frames. Still, he doesn't use everything I'm giving him.

Here is a demo of the starting battle system for the game, if you wants to download:

Expectation vs Reality

Guys I must be honest with you, and I think the game may not have things that I wanted for this project. It is not a complex game, it is based on an RPG from the 90s, the question is: Why is it not possible to do this easily in 2022?
Apparently it's hard for the two programmers I hired and I'm just wasting money, I'm probably going to remove the battle system.
I want to know your opinion, I don't think I agree with the battle system and it has errors.
I would like to opt for the removal of the battle in general, it was a complex idea for the programmers :( Time goes on and I don't want to keep making them wait any longer.

You might want to reach out to https://mobile.twitter.com/room_collective or https://mobile.twitter.com/satyroom (their programmer). They are making gay/bara games and they treat people fairly from what I can tell. It sounds to me like these programmers are giving you too much trouble, it should be fairly quick if they know what they're doing--and they should listen to you if you hired them! These guys made an RPG in 3 weeks (Hard Blade - Goro's Adventure) that might be like what you want: https://satyroom.itch.io/goros-misadventure

Hello, I don't know if it's too late to tell you, but I recommend that you better make your game in the unity engine. I just played your demo and indeed if what you want is a much better battle system than this, then unity is the option

Akarru

What system is he using to develop it in? If it's something like Renpy or one of those it may not be able to support what you want. I did work on a game awhile back and had to redo stuff to fit the game systems' limitations

Hank McCoy

Sounds like communication problem or you might need to find a programmer who can do it. Not sure why your programmer goes in different direction from original designs that you needed, is it because they don't know how to do it? Or are there some other limitations?
