I would first like to thank you for your patience in getting this video up
I realize it is late. Unfortunately I was getting sick before travelling for work and then found myself getting sicker while working and by the time I got home I was a very sick. I am currently on antibiotics and on the road to feeling better. Thank you for your patience and understanding. DDT #32 will be up by Wednesday September 25th.
:)
Welcome to our second part of Rhythm is A Dancer
This time focusing just on training our ears for Baladi and Saidi as they sound quite similar and can be confusing for some dancers.
The first 3 tracks are Baladi rhythm as the base rhythm and the final 3 are saidi rhythm as the base rhythm.
Music is all from Mario Kirlis 's album called "Ritmos Arabes Vol. 1"
I highly recommend it for learning to train your ear to recognize various middle eastern music rhythms :)
In this DDT we used Baladi A, Baladi B, Baladi C, Saidi A, Saidi B, and Saidi C all by Mario Kirlis.
I do not own the music. No copyright infringement intended. Music is used for teaching and educational purposes.
I look pretty disheveled in this one especially by the end of it. Moral of this story be sure that you in fact put on the waterproof mascara bs the normal mascara before you film so that everyone won't see you melting. Consider it a cautionary tale lol. What can I say. Sometimes work gets messy 😂🤣 I decided showing my "hot mess" self was more authentic than refilming this drill.
Thank you for choosing to dance with me:)
