EARLY ACCESS: The Try Guys Get Tattoos

Comments

I have 14 currently. I just set my appt for my next one. All have various meanings. My most recent is my favorite. Backstory, I'm allergic to a lot of fruits/foods. So I had my tattoo artist turn each of them into some evil villains. I call them my allergy bandits. 😝

Small thing, but thank you so much for the SI heads up at the beginning!

Absolutely adore and appreciate Jonathan sharing his story. I’ve always loved his character as the hunky step-dad to Eugene, but that just goes to show that we truly never know what someone has been through. Johnathon, I’ve been in your shoes. I wish you nothing but continued success and I’m so happy that you are with us.

i don't have any tattoos but i ADORE inkbox and am considering working up to a real tattoo someday. i have a great idea, i just don't know if i could handle the pain

This may have helped me decide on getting another tattoo. My cat got run over recently, and while I have three tattoos already the idea didn’t come to me to get one to help memorialize him until now.

Loved hearing all of the stories behind the tattoos. I have a portrait of my dog on my forearm. She was my best friend and constant companion through grade school and almost all of college. It didn’t matter if I had a really bad day or a really good day, she was there for me with endless kisses and cuddles. She died back in 2013 but she’s still with me always.

Alice

I could see Keith getting a tattoo just to use as an ice breaker lol Loved hearing all the different stories though!

I have ideas for tattoos I'd like but they always seem out of reach like there's always something I want to spend my money on more. And I think I'm intimidated by the process but I'm interested in the craft as a whole! (As an aside, did anyone else find the script they used to name people hard to read? Just me?)

I knew it!! I saw the tattoos in the noodle video and I was like… “those seem new…”

Life is short, GET THE TATTOO YOU WANT.

I actually started my tattoo journey this year! I have one on each arm; scissors with snake handles (mom sews, dad loves snakes) and my two cats cuddling. The third is HUGE and interesting to explain. Working in a medical lab the last two years has not been nice to my body or mental health. New stretch marks triggered my disordered eating thoughts so I wanted to cover them. Except I'm not a flowery roses type of gal; I'm a potato. I have potatoes from my knee, up my side, to my bra line. But they're sprouting potatoes and flowering. I love how alien forgotten potatoes look with their purple tentacle roots. And ya know what, POTATOES ARE PRETTY DANG AWESOME. The not-potato parts are actually toxic. My tater tat makes me feel absolutely beautiful. I'm a potato and I'm proud of it! Despite everything, I've managed to grow into the wonderful weirdo I am today.

I have quite a few myself, some incredibly meaningful, others just stories of being young and impulsive . I have one for my children that gets complimented frequently, one for my dad who has passed on my back, a lotus and “still I rise”, on my ribs that I got after my divorce , and the last line to the poem “Invictus” under my left collar bone, those are my favorites . I have a couple that need some tweaks, but you guys are so right they all tell a story. I loved hearing the stories of all of your staff and hearing tattoos framed in a positive way and a way to help people heal .

I have four tattoos so far, and definitely planning more (though I need to travel to get them, I live in Northern Canada!). I wouldn't say they hurt a lot. Hurt? Yes. A lot? Mostly no, and it really depends where. Behind the ear has limited nerves, it was pretty easy - but the top of the foot definitely a painful time. My mom cried when I told her I was getting my first one but then thought it was so beautiful ... and she got one a few years ago, now. Go for it, if you want!
