I grew up in the Queer community (that's what happens when you're out at thirteen in a conservative town in the early 90s.), and drag has always been a touchstone for me. I'm legit tearing up seeing how committed you are to the community and seeing you get up on stage and just live the moment. I miss that, and sometimes it feels like there's less of that energy in the community now than there used to be. Thank you for continuing to keep me close to the heart of the community, which is that energy, that self-acceptance, and that defiant fearlessness. <3

They’re really busy people as well so maybe they were booked for other things but I’m sure it wasn’t because they didn’t want to go!

The girls who start in clubs have to learn how to craft their social media presence- the girls who start online have to learn how to craft their in person performance. It goes both ways.

I think you are going to get a lot of traction with drag fans ( a lot of drag race girls and other well knowns like Rhea and Vicky in it), but also you are entering a huge drag debate: do you have to perform in a club to be a real drag queen? Mayhem and Monique really touched on it with there statement on why queens should perform at clubs, but rn a lot of people disagree and feel like you can start on instagram and youtube. We have queens on drag race who aren't club queens. So this is going to drive that debate. Drag Race fans will watch this just to see Mayhem and Monique say that bc it's the topic of conversation in online drag spaces right now. So if you want- highlight that more bc people will be looking at this video for those clips. Also, be aware you might get negative comments from the insta/youtube queen crowd. (Personally, I think the whole thing is a bit much and I love a lot of queens that have rose to prominence on insta/youtube but love a lot of club queens who don't have major online presences soo yeah)

To see you, and the whole drag community, being able to experience their true passion and have people love them for it is amazing. I love that our world as evolved enough that this can be appreciated instead of scorned. I know its not 100% but every time you put out these videos and show more of it to the public, thats one more person who opens their mind to diversity. Good for you!

2019-03-19 17:17:50 +0000 UTCHey, girl, I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We don’t have drag shows here. It’s a pretty secluded place and we have to drive 2 hours to Denver to fly. Now we have more air travel at our Cheyenne airport and they do several daily trips to Denver. My in laws are on the board at our historic atlas theater. I could get you guys a venue. If it’s just try guys, same deal but it you come for Frontier Days you can catch the famous melodrama and even be in it! How cool would that be? Try guys try old fashioned melodrama.

It takes a lot of courage sometimes to be introspective with honesty, and even more to take those things you've learned and then act on them to continue growing yourself as a person. It is still one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had. In addition to that I was so surprised because there was one drag queen there and damn when she came out I was like wow how am I so turned on right now? After watching this I know that’s the mark of a great drag queen!!
