2019-02-22 23:59:18 +0000 UTCAnxiety can be rough on Dogs, but you just have to learn how to make them comfortable and support them. My rescue dog pees when he's scared, and when he's happy. Once you know how to live with an anxious dog you really wouldn't give it up for the world because you know that whatever they went through before being 'rescued' is still affecting them in whatever ways and they just aren't like other dogs. And that's okay, because you're changing their lives with love and once a rescue is comfortable with you, and you've earnt their trust, it's forever. <3

My little chihuahua HATES water and he would have been clawed so much with her trying to get away from that bath. cuddles yes - water no. And i love that Bowie got to go on a hike and he really seemed to enjoy it. i would love it if Eugene borrows Bowie for his hikes now - i have a friend who does this to help out another friend b/c he hikes, the owner doesn't, and the dog loves it. I was surprised by how shy bean was. i really thought he would be more playful like Bowie is, but he seems to be a very dedicated one family loving dog. Mean as you saw it takes him time to warm up to you. I do also agree with Maggie that he could tell Zach's energy was he wasn't happy about having Bean so Bean wasn't happy about having Zach. and Pesto was the classic dog. Loves walks, but not over done. loves cuddles and people but friendly and not pushy. loves food an ddoesn't care if you say not. knows just enough tricks to be cute but not some all out superstar. he is the perfect average picture of what a dog should.

2019-02-22 19:35:12 +0000 UTCAs the owner of a chihuahua, and I'm guessing that's what Emma is, I was pretty worried about Keith bathing her. Chihuahuas can be very emotional and high strung - ours is an 8-year old male, and he's pretty chill about baths, but crazy anxious in the car. He does the same thing of sitting on the floor. Ours isn't a rescue, but I would imagine a chihuahua that was adopted later in life could be quite delicate emotionally. That said, they are wonderfully quirky little creatures <3

The 2nd special one is a Shiba Inu with a club foot. The other two are a chiweenie and a mutt (which our groomer thinks may have coyote in him). Fun times at our farm.

Nothing against people who wants certain breeds of dogs, but there are so many doggos and kitties out there that get euthanized in the city pounds (this happens when PAWS and Anti-Cruelty Society and all non-kill shelters have no more space for any more that they can't save them). My coworker adopted a full cocker spaniel who was first was given back to PAWS because he was too "hyper" when he was a puppy and they regretted buying him from the breeder. An older gentleman who was living alone adopted him. Fast forward to a couple of years later, the older gentleman died and the cocker spaniel was back to PAWS again! This time was when my coworker fell in love with him and he finally has a mommy and daddy. You can get full-breed dogs at shelters if that's what you really want! And you save a life!
