I hit rockbottom/burnout last year which resulted in me changing careers completely. I'm happier now, but I'd hate to see any of you loose your passion and love for creating and engaging with all of us Tryceratops. Set firm boundaries, create a good work/life balance, and support one another and I know you all will do just fine :)

Watching his (amazing) home renovation video gave me so much second-hand anxiety as I imagined how much he and Ariel had going at once: starting a new company from scratch, health insurance needs, first child, massive home renovation project, managing the money that goes along with ALL of that. I got anxiety just typing that. haha So I'm really impressed with what he and Ariel have accomplished and how they've handled it. I'm sure it couldn't have been easy.

Again, not sure how I can fix it, but I feel your pain, Eugene! And all of you TG's! Especially working even when you're supposed to be taking a break or on vacation (i.e. this video haha). We millenials inherited a rough world.

2019-01-15 18:15:31 +0000 UTCI feel incredibly burned out but I have 15 days PTO total for the entire year (including sick time etc..) so I couldn't use them all for one recovery trip. And that's a generous amount for most companies to give. I feel like people our age just don't stand a chance since we're all expected to work so much and almost always for a very low reward (monetarily and in terms of actual fulfillment etc...). Also, affording to take a trip or time off feels unattainable too, as I need to be frugal and save money. Not hating on this video at all just resonated with me and reminded me how difficult it is to be a working young person these days and how a solution is really out of reach for a lot of us (even a temporary one like a vacation). This video comes at a time when I'm feeling super burned out so it was cathartic to watch. We appreciate all your guys' hard work!

I finally just went away and was lazy and slept and just chilled. Not quite 2 weeks for me and I did have to answer client emails and texts, but I am feeling SO much better! It's important to say 'it's ok to take a break'. Sure we missed Try Guy videos, but we also understand that it's essential to have down time. We will live and enjoy it when you return. :)

I was told that it doesn't matter how well I do something if I'm not here to do it in a year and I really think that applies to you guys as well! We love everything that you do and really want you to be happy and enjoy it too <3 I can only agree with Kati on listening to your body, it's so easy to just keep pushing and pushing. We live in a society that values overworking and exhaustion which is so detrimental to mental health.
