Experimental Update

We have a big ol' Experimental Update for you this weekend. If you have downloaded the Experimental build through the Itch.io launcher, you already have the update. We have  continued to focus on stability, and raw functionality.

NOTE: To access the Customizer and Studio, tap on your wristwatch, and select the Fast Travel menu. WATCH HOW HERE 

Next week, Studio should come together in a big way with a major UI update that will make the experience more comfortable and streamlined. We're working on some pretty awesome new animations, clothing options, and a major feature you'll be stoked to experience. 

At this point, if your build does not launch, or crashes, we would really appreciate it if you could answer the questions below. Your information will help us knock out a lingering launch issue effecting a small portion of our Players.

• Which version of Windows are you using?
• What graphics card is in your PC?
• Did you install the game with the itch.io launcher or manually through the itch.io or other website?
• If you downloaded manually, did you encounter any errors while unzipping the game?
• Go to HDX/Content/Paks, right click on HDX-WindowsNoEditor.pak and choose Properties, what is its Size and Size On Disk?
• What did you do just before the crash?
• Go to C:\Users[your user name]\AppData\Local\HDX\Crashes and please send the most recent directory's contents.

If you could send us this info via Discord (or below) we would really appreciate it. Let's nuke this bug to hell :) Bugs love it there, it's fine.

Major additions to the Experimental build this week

• Holodexxx Home:
  • Multiple locomotion schemes added:
    • Directional pad, controller orientation
    • Directional pad, head orientation
    • More to come
• PhotoStudio/Customizer
  • Majority of 2D implementation done, release to come soon
• Photo Studio: Creating Items
  • The Create button is now found at the bottom of the "Scene List" screen.
  • You can create Avatars (Marley, Christian), Cameras (Handheld DSLR, Camera Tablet), Lights (Spotlight, Soft Box 1+2, LED Light) and Props (Cyberpunk boxes, HDX Sign, green screen)
  • After choosing an item to spawn, you will see a preview of the object and can choose where to place it by moving your controller. Use the thumbstick/thumbpad to change the rotation. When you're happy with the placement, click the trigger to place the item.
  • Note: If you'd like to stop placing an item, use the Grip button to cancel the creation process.
• Photo Studio: Deleting Items
  • After selecting an object, there will be an X button on it's properties screen. Choose this button and then confirm that you'd like to delete the object.
• Photo Studio: Laser Selection
  • You can now quickly select an object in the scene and load it's properties in the wrist UI. This is generally easier and faster than choosing items from the Scene List.
  • To fire the laser - 
    • Rift Controller: Press and hold the X button
    • Vive Controller: Press and hold the Menu button (above the thumbpad)
  • While the laser is highlighting an item, it will glow. Click the trigger to select it. The properties are now displayed on the wrist UI.
• Photo Studio: Take Photos With The UI
  • You can now take photos without being physically close to the camera. On the camera properties screen in the wrist UI, there is a button called "Take Photo"
• Photo Studio: Additional functionality
  • Added a "Take Photo" feature to the camera UI screen so you can move physically away from the camera and still take photos
  • HTC Cosmos controllers should now work as intended
  • Fixed spotlight pitch, which can now angle down in UI
  • Reverse Cowgirl anim added
  • Lights and Cameras can be found in the dark
    • There is a slight emissive brightness on the light stands and camera bodies
  • Lights now have an Arrow added to their bottom, to help with orientation
  • Lights and props now rotatable in UI
