After last episode being my least favorite, this one is I think my favorite of the show. Not that there aren't so many episodes after that have so much to offer, but thinking on it this is the one that I always cement in my head as being "Dollhouse" to me. So many revelations, the music score, like Darcie said, was so poignent. And having the interviews show the naive nature of thinking it's okay versus the cold hard truth that these people can't consent to what's happening to them... Such a good show. Plus, as a martial artist, I love so much the scene with Paul using Muay Thai against Echo's Krav Maga, my two favorite martial arts is just *chef's kiss*

It was a TV sweeps episode and this delivered big. The story takes a huge step forward, we explore public opinion and the ethical concerns about imprinting technology, we are introduced to new plot points (sleeper agent dolls, undercover operative in the Dollhouse), and we explore the darker themes of abuse with Sierra's story. Then with Patton Oswalt, well he has been acting awhile and has appeared in a large amount of projects. Just weird timing for you on watching this, as he guest starred here many years before he was on SHIELD and over a decade before VM.

They need establish what the dollhouse could be early on so that when it gets more serialized you understand it. This show just gets better and better.

And I just watched for the first time a few months ago. But this one was really great and exciting. Curveballs coming.

2025-03-13 00:15:09 +0000 UTCThe crazy thing about this episode is that it has so many major scenes that each could have been the basis for their own episode: The sleeper agent reveal; the person inside the dollhouse reprograming actives, The rapist handler; Paul meeting Echo...it had to be a sweeps episode (back when they still did those).
