Only catching up on this now but absolutely love how much you're enjoying Doctor Who. Rose telling her Mam she was the blond girl holding her father's hand almost took me out originally.

For a bit better explanation about WTF just happened and a nice intro to David Tennant's time in the Tardis, watch a minisode that was broadcast a few months before the Xmas ep went out in 2005. It's called 'Born Again' is on YouTube and features the Doctor and Rose on the Tardis just before the Christmas Invasion (it really does help and it's about 15 minutes). Happy Xmas! Oh, btw, David Tennant becomes the 10th - yes 10th - Doctor. And very good is his too.

(can't believe Darcie actually covered this minor classic) era, but I've allowed myself to jump ahead and keep current with Who because I really needed to see the reaction to this episode in particular. I'm always so jealous of newbies watching decades after the fact, because watching when it airs it feels like every major thing is announced months in advance by the beeb so staying spoiler free is impossible

The scene with Rose telling Jackie she met her dad is arguably my favourite in the entire show, it’s just so perfectly acted, Jackie trying to process that the Doctor has infiltrated some of the most pivotal moments of her life and changed events without her ever knowing and the score from Father’s Day playing is gut wrenching 🥲.. Also we all mourn our favourite doctors and then get re-attached all over again, it’s part of the process ! I think you’ll love David Tennant :)
