"He died in a turtle neck." 😂. I went from sobbing to laughing so freaking hard. That pretty much sums up how your reactions make me feel lol.

Thanks for being vulnerable with letting us see your dance! It was perfectly fine, btw, but I get it. I usually have to have a few drinks in me to let people see me bust a move. lol And thank you for your vulnerability throughout your Buffyverse reactions. This universe definitely had many dark and bleak and existential moments and chapters that were rough to get through. This entire episode was full of them. But it was such a joy seeing you fall in love with these series and share many of the same reactions and views and love for the characters that I had. 💓

Things that always comfort me about the end of the Buffyverse: -Anne's whole story arc from wannabe vamp bait to a hero in her own right. -Drusilla's still out there, probably psychically aware of everything that's been going on...just living her best life. This has been a fantastic journey. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Something about season 5 finales and dragons in the Buffyverse 😭

Erin

Never do that again. Would you like me to lie to you now? ..... Yes

Caught up on all your Angel reactions just in time for this! I love this ending so much. This show has always been about fighting the good fight, not some hypothetical destination or reward. "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do, because that's all there is." To me that's the entire theme of the show - and this finale beautifully reiterated that imo. Buffy of course had the happier ending, which is 100% the way it should be - that was a coming-of-age tale of girl who, despite all she went through, was really just starting in life, and she gets to finally own her power and have a proper future. This show was about a guy who had already lived multiple lifetimes and was looking to atone for over a century of a monstrous existence. He was always the more tragic character. Each show had an ending that was pitch-perfect in tone for their respective lead characters, imo. Thanks for sharing, it's been a joy watching along with you! Looking forward to the wrap-up! Would be curious to hear who your favorite Buffyverse character is now that it's all done. Mine is Wes. His journey and growth across both shows was just epic, totally organic, and one of the best-executed character arcs I've ever seen on TV. But there were so many great ones across both shows.

Andrea

Not me sobbing harder after you said goodbye..... 😭

Also, Lorne’s somber ending hits me in the feels on rewatch knowing that Andy Hallett would die just a couple of years later. Only 33 when he died. So sad. RIP Andy

Not sure if you heard it but Spike dedicated his poem reading to Cecily - she was the girl who told him he was beneath her after hearing that exact poem read to her at the party in BTVS S5E7. Talk about tying up loose ends, lol.

Followed you since the"Buffy" pilot and seeing you get to this point has been magical. I also love that both the "Buffy" and "Angel" finales are opposite: Buffy was free from fighting on her own and could be a normal person, while Angel and co. returned to the fight! Both endings beautiful in their own right.

I was on the SciFi channel 2015-2020 and is now on Netflix. Love to see you try the first one as a Patreon watch, but at least check it out when you get the chance.

I love this finale more every time I watch it, and in general I feel like S5 of Angel has some of the best writing in all of television. This has been a wonderful journey. It certainly doesn't FEEL like it's been years. It all flew by so fast.

Neil Silverman

As Doyle says is Season 1: "The good fight, yeah? You never know until you've been tested. I get that now." 'Come on over to our offices and you'll see that there's still heroes in this world.' Is that it? Am I done?"

Matthew

There was a planned season 6, but network drama took it out. The storyline continues in the comics, though.

Shaun Stacy

I've been looking forward to the dragon reveal since way back in the early seasons of Buffy when you mentioned wanting to see them.

James B.

Now that you've finished Angel, you MUST watch "The Magicians". There is no other show I've found that has the same mix of drama, characters, and humor as Buffy. It's all great, but Seasons 2-4 are just phenomenal.

Jeff Walker

Jasmine is my favorite Buffyverse big bad but S5 of Angel is my favorite season of Angel. And the finale just gets better every time I watch it.

Jonathan Hall

We're Here! I'll probably say more when I get the chance layer but it's been a pleasant journey throughout... Also, I'm going to send you those Angel Movie Style Season Trailers like I did when you finished Buffy 💛..

Ash Lee Can

Just finished the reaction and I'm crying right along with you. I saw your pilot reaction to Buffy on Youtube so so long ago and I remember being so excited when later on you decided to watch the whole show. I wish I had joined your patreon sooner, but here we are at the end of Angel and it definitely feels like a journey.

Jaci

Rewatching it with you this time, the Gunn/Anne conversation really does sum up the show as a whole and the finale. Anne, the character was in Buffy season 2, Buffy season 3, Angel season 2, and Angel season 5. She appeared in 4 different seasons of the Buffyverse. Amazing. And she got her name, Anne, from Buffy in season 3 because Anne is Buffy’s middle name. Also, there are comics that show what happens after this. The one called, Angel After the Fall is canonically, Angel Season 6

Ray D

I have been waiting years for this moment. Your face when you see the damn dragon. You’ve been begging for one, and here we heccin go! 😍

Just an amazing final episode to the series. I love this episode much more than the Buffy finale. Ever since mid season 2 where Angel hit his rock bottom after taking that elevator ride with Holland Manners, and sleeping with Darla, Angel has realized that they will never actually win against evil. That it will always exist in some form no matter what. That’s when Angel figured out that even though he can’t “win” per se, it’s about fighting the good fight for as long as possible and doing as much good as you can. “if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do”. This ending totally encompasses that. Having Angel and company win, with some sort of happy ending would have felt like a cop out and against the shows motto. Having Angel choose to fight until the very end no matter what, that’s what it’s all about. Whether they survive that final battle or not, is not the point. The point is that they fought and they tried. And the battle against evil rages on and will rage on forever. Long after Angel is gone. The important thing is that they will all go out battling whether it’s this battle or one of the next ones. Angel the show is one of my favorites of all time. I even like it slightly more than Buffy. And this show ends on the perfect note. “Let’s go to work”
