Truly one of the best episodes in any Whedon show, which is saying a lot! I just love the flashbacks and learning about the crews beginnings.

I feel like if anyone didn't already love the show, this would be the episode that would likely seal the deal. The ending is also a perfect reflection of Mal and his love for Serenity in that we find out that he didn't need the sales pitch, he knew Serenity was the ship for him. Sad that they never found a cook, but if there had to be a trade off then a doctor is definitely more important.
