It was really awkward and uncomfortable to watch that interview with Joss and the cast, and honestly a little depressing. I've seen and read several interviews with him over the years and he always seemed humble and self-deprecating and well, likable. I believed the hype that working with him was a dream job- although even then I knew SMG was burned out and wanted to move on. But the other issues of course I had no idea. I am glad that things are now out in the open but the fan in me is a bit heartbroken that this has become Whedon's legacy. It is fascinating that he created a show about facing and fighting one's demons and yet he never faced and conquered demons of his own. My first job was as a gift wrapper at Bullock's department store (yup, the same store "Flashback Buffy" mentioned she shoplifted a lipstick from in 2x21 "Becoming Part 1"). My dream job was to be a clothing designer, which I was lucky enough to realize and did it for 20 years. It was very hard work but very rewarding and included a lot of travel, which I loved.
