Darcie, you know how you said this show was dramatic, well just you wait. There are parts that are so dramatic that you'll find it difficult to breath, no Kidding. The great thing about it is that it's overdramatic in the best way possible. Judging by your reaction to this I'm guessing that by the end you won't be able to choose between the two shows which is your favourite. Which is fine as it's all one show as far as i'm concerned but you will see what I mean .

I am on a pretty tight budget though, so there may be times when I have to drop off for a month or so and then resubscribe and catch up. I watched Buffy when it first aired, and I so love seeing other people discover the show and start to love it as much as I have all these years. Glad to you have with us, welcome aboard. :)

The problematic areas really help to remind us how far we have come and how far we still have to go. It's good to talk about it. I hope we can talk more about this too.

2021-04-12 18:20:55 +0000 UTChahaha hey hey! so glad you're here! no need to apologize for long comments at all - i appreciate them and the thought that goes into them! i understand about the joss thing, i've had a few throughout my life that have hit hard and can understand as a fan it can be tough to deal with. thought it was important for me to vocalize my thoughts on it before diving into the universe so there was no misunderstandings! and thank you! i think my format (from what ive heard) is a bit different from other reactors but i hope it can bring a different experience and people enjoy it anyway! appreciate the feedback on this! and yes thank you!! i have a mod now but if things do get bigger and grow, i'm sure he would need/appreciate some help with this so i'll keep you in mind for sure! enjoy ep 3 ha!!

Buffy and the spin-off are so important to who I am as a person that this is the first time someone being outed as an abuser actually hurt my feelings, if that makes sense. I think your approach is spot-on. I'm actually glad you're editing the reactions! I've seen the full ones over and over, so I prefer seeing how a reactor edits. You can cut out the boring parts, I get to see what you thought was most important about the ep, you can make jokes in the edit... I just like it. But hey, the important thing is, you do you! For this and all the other decisions you'll have to make along the way in how to engage with this show for an audience. Some reactors have had bad experiences with spoilers and overly-demanding fans. I think/hope the community has grown up a bit in the past couple of years and we're nicer now, but there may be drama along the way. I said this on YouTube, but if you ever need help with any behind the scenes admin stuff, I haven't done it before but I've been wanting to help mod or something for a reactor, so feel free to reach out if you'd ever like any help! Off to ep 3 I go!

It's one of my favorite shows, and I love discussing deep equality type issues, and how a particular ep gets it right or wrong, and what has changed in the last 20-odd years.

You're hilarious, and I love your vibe. Thanks also for talking about the whole Joss thing. I love this show, but when I rewatch his creations, you can tell that there are some toxic masculinity tropes that needs to be addressed. Before all of this came out, I always attributed it to the shows being created in the 90s - different times and all that, but now I wonder if the issues he has caused it to bleed through in his works. Regardless, BTVS was/is one of the best shows on TV IMO. There's a lot of complexity to it to unpack. Hope you enjoy!
