He began his professional career in music at the age of 19 as Steve Vai's vocalist, and went on to form and lead Strapping Young Lad, the Devin Townsend Project, Casualties of Cool, and others. For this video, I took footage for the duration of the tour. Europe, you're beautiful!
Here are the bass parts that I played live and in the studio for the song, Genesis, from the album, Empath. There's a tricky syncopated slap part at the end of the bridge that you might have fun with. Also, plenty of double thumbing to go along with Samus Paulicelli's insane blast beats. Enjoy!
