I have this interpretation that Angela/Charly are in a retro-future Like you got a mix of 80's stuff with futuristic elements (androids and stuff) Mostly for aesthetic purposes. So tapes and stuff still exist. I've wanted to imply that there are more androids that are like Angela (and more specifically -look- like her too) but my ideas in that department are quite low...
