Sorry if you already saw a reply to this, because from my side it looks like it disappeared. SPOILER ........................................................................................................... You're right I forgot all of that. I didn't remember that Hinata was going to do normal classes as well. The main trigger for my idea was that Rimuru was worried about how to socialize the kids into human society. I think she'd be better at that than Hinata. There's nothing ordinary about Hinata. Granted, the children aren't very ordinary either. But she could also teach the other children, both monster and non-monster (eventually). After all, Rimuru is recruiting workers to his country right now, who knows, maybe Tiss might think it's a good opportunity!☺️

SPOILER................................................................... I am not sure how well that would work. The reason the children are being relocated to Tempest is because they have surpassed Tiss (or whoever their teacher is in the LN) in terms of combat, so they needed to find a new teacher in Tempest. They also need a teacher who has experience with Spirits to help them learn about and control the Spirits residing within them. In the manga and novels, Hakuro becomes a combat instructor for them and Hinata becomes both a general educator and a Spirit magic teacher because she had free time from the Holy Knight order in this newfound time of peace. I suppose they could keep Tiss around and have her be the general educator though so that could work. But I think Hinata remaining their teacher in Tempest is important for them to become close for events later down the line like what happens in Lubelius in Vol 11.

Yes, I just came across that, and I think that what Rimuru worried about with these vampires, given that they were a group of elite, noble, high-level vampires, is that they might end up acting arrogant and superior to the other workers, especially since he hadn't talked to them (read: interviewed) first.

myst0dreamer

Spoiler: ..........................................................................................................................................................................................I didn't check out the exact events as they occur in the LNs or manga recently (one of the reasons I called it a hunch), but if they show this at all, maybe they will have Tiss be the children's teacher in Tempest. At least, imo, there is no one more important than she is whom they could use instead, iirc. I think the change would be minor, and possibly even better.

You may be right and Luminus does just consider them to be weirdos that she is sending over. At least in the novels Rimuru was worried about the powerful vampires causing trouble so I figured Luminus either sensed or anticipated this and wanted to sweeten the pot to further convince Rimuru. I think she views Rimuru's people as all oddballs lol so she probably feels they will fit right in!

Daniel Meissner

do you have a guess as to when exactly that would be? like what event she fits in without changing someone?

Daniel Meissner

I've seen it before but I just know it's uncomfortable!

aint Hinata the only woman Rimuru directly HIT ON after he reincarnated ? XDDDD their relationship is so lovely. I doubt it will ever become romanse but I love their chemistry. and i still cant get over how much I love that Rimuru and Luminous have the same type of woman they fancy XDDDDDD meanwhile Hianat to Rimuru: take care of my girlfriend hahahahah XDDDDD... I d be overjoyed, I would never say no to a date with a hot lesbian vampire lady. cuz great vibes from her. 10:38 what a difference hahahaah lel

Yeah, I didn't remember why Luminus felt she needed to compensate Rimuru for accepting these "oddballs" who happened to be also very powerful. But somehow I got the the impression that she thought "oddball" was the thing she really needed to bribe, I mean, compensate Rimuru for.

I have a hunch they are going to use Tiss another way where she doesn't have to replace a major character like Hinata. Oh, yeah, that's where the instruments came from, I had forgotten.

True, they kind of left out how normally the merchants would be happy to accept the forms of payment that Tempest is currently able to provide (ancient gold coins, products of equivalent value, etc.) but I think we get that vibe. That is how they are able to tell that someone is purposely causing this problem. The fact that so many merchants are refusing payment methods that they would usually accept at the same time is suspicious. I am glad this season exists as it is because it should weed out the fans that have misconceptions about this series. They should be realizing it is not a typical battle shonen where the MC jumps from fight to fight getting stronger. It is just one of the best fantasy stories ever told and the highest selling Japanese Light Novel in history :)

Daniel Meissner

Yes, I think they should have made Raphael's emotions more obvious in this instance. All displays of emotion from her are important developmental moments for her character that I wish they would leave in. Also, the reason Luminus felt the need to add in a 'reward' for Rimuru in this trade is because the people she will be sending are very powerful vampires (being approximately Calamity class) and they can't really be sure that they will not cause any trouble. So there is a bit of risk for Rimuru and his nation accepting them.

Daniel Meissner

lmao yes very ingenious to have Tiss be so shocked she cannot participate, I am glad they brought her along just to not include her! They also recovered a lot of instruments from Clayman's castle that helped then build their orchestra. I think they nailed Shuna and Shion's performance here with Shuna playing a calmer piece and Shion being intense and passionate on the violin. In the novels, Rimuru described it as more of a musical duel rather than a duet. It captured their personalities to a T!

Daniel Meissner

The way Hinata was sitting, called "seiza", is a demanding position. But it is taught at a early age so they can get used to it for ceremonies later on.

So what about the money problem? most important omissions were about the expected methods of payment. In the West, which was under the control of the Council of the West, which enacted these rules of trade, payments are to be made in Dwarven gold coins, the most trusted currency. There really weren't any others. These coins also had serial numbers, and the nation that minted it was stable. However, these rules really only applied to the Western Nations. In the contracts that were formed with the merchants coming to the festival, it was stipulated that other forms of payment would be valid. That includes ancient gold or coins, barter, and IOU’s. The problem is that they don't have the Dwarven coins on hand. There are only two days left to gather them. ................................................................................................. During this whole cours, at least, people were expecting action, or at least something to happen. Now the season isn't over, and I don't want to imply that nothing else would happen, but it's a fact that this money problem is a major one affecting Tempest and the whole season really. No one had any idea that one of the major conflicts would involve an economic attack. Most people, having decided that action wasn't the biggest part of this cours seem to have decided that this is slice-of-life. But I think that we have to see this season as part of a power struggle over the West.

Luminus offered to exchange the Secrets of Faith and Grace for a reason. She said it's best to use a bargaining chip while it's still valuable. In this case, now was the best time. Luminus said Rimuru would have probably figured it out after not too long. Raphael, in accepting these Skills, you might have noticed, sounded a bit sullen about it. Or at least that's how she was supposed to have sounded. It's because Raphael had wanted to work it out herself. She was already on track with sacrificing Beelzebub to analyze Meltslash. She has already figured out how to defend against spiritual particles, the basis for holy magic (and also the soul, as we just learned). These "Secrets" enable Rimuru's followers to use Holy Magic, if they put their faith in him. He's not going to let everyone in on this, though.

There were a lot of shockers for Rimuru, people revealing surprising sides to themselves. Also, remember Tiss-sensei was originally non-canon. They came up with an ingenious way to remove her from child care duties to veer back to the original plot where Hinata was the one chaperoning them. One thing they did leave out was how much money Hinata was spending. The dress was made of the hellmoth silk, and had a lot of magical properties. Rimuru noted she must be really rich to be spending so wildly, and on a lot of other things as well. ........................................................ With the musical performance, Takt was a halfling who had trouble finding a way to contribute to Tempest. There were a lot of things he was no good at. But as soon as he discovered music he had found his calling. It also turns out a lot of monsters were good at music. There has been a few instruments that already were used by monsters, and there were other instruments in the world. Rimuru produced a music theory textbook from his school days from memory with the help of Raphael, and the monsters used it to learn about music and how to read music. Raphael again reproduced all the music that Rimuru liked in the form of sheet music. It ranged from famous classical music to anime music. Rimuru thought that harmony was creating connections, which is the same thing Shuna said about cuisine. I guess the studio had neither the time nor the rights to any of that music, because it would have been funny if they could have used music familiar to anime watchers, just like the Veldora fight at Walpurgis was. Even if they could have come closer to the feel of the performance by Shion and Shuna as portrayed in the LN, it would have been more amazing. They combined warmth with passion. ................................................................................................ Shuna and Shion actually meshed well, as Shion was always supposed to be Shuna's bodyguard. Shuna always liked to sing, and Shion had always had a good sense of rhythm. It's not her Master Chef Skill. Back in Episode 12, I believe, when Rimuru was inviting people to the festival, Shion looked like she was holding a secret. Rimuru and a lot of commentators worried she was planning to cook something as her exhibit. They were all wrong. Mwahahahaha!
