An Announcement Regarding Next Week’s Schedule

Hey everyone. There’s something important I need to discuss.

As you might’ve seen in the recent WiP announcement, my editor — who’s also my best friend — has been hit by an indescribable loss. Earlier this week, his father was suddenly rushed to the hospital, where he tragically passed away later that day. I won’t get more into more detail than that, but suffice it to say, this was a tragic loss that’s shaken everyone.

I want to give him the appropriate time to pay his respects, to grieve, and to process everything that’s happened. 

I owe it to him, because it was only through his constant help and support that I’m where I am today. 

My best friend has been an anchor to my flighty ideas since the story’s conception at its onset. We’ve been writing buddies, sharing creative ideas both silly and serious for years and years now. It’s thanks to him however that I’m able to really forge consistency, maintain standards, and stay on course with the plans that we set out to accomplish from day 1. And it’s only through him that I was able to work through my own mental struggles, helping me overcome obstacle after obstacle day in and day out.

I want to honor his selfless contributions by giving him some breathing room during these difficult times. This hits especially close to home for me, given that I lost my grandmother earlier this year. While I know that doesn’t compare to the loss of a parent, I can only begin to imagine what he must be feeling right now.

As a result, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you guys if it’s alright if we both take a week off to get affairs sorted.

I'm planning to delay Wearing Power Armor to a Magic School by 1 week however, with posts resuming the week following next week.

My thoughts, my prayers, and my heart goes out to him, his family, and his father. I hope that he’s in a better place now, and I hope he rests in peace.
