With that out of the way, I want to talk about the so-called "villainess" genre. I have read a fair number of these isekai or near-isekai shoujo light novels and manga, and although this is Korean, it definitely fits that mold. To limit myself to the villainess version of this, the villainess doesn't have to be either evil or be in a magical world. A very common way for such stories to unfold is that the protagonist (protagoness?) is suddenly brought back in time after their evil deeds are punished in some way in the future, often by the ML himself, and often by death. They realize they made a huge mistake and try to escape their fate in some way. There are also times when a person from modern Japan who read the novel or played the otome game get dropped into the body or they suddenly remember it's a game, and they have this big huge problem that they are going to live a doomed life if they can't change things. Sometimes the story is similar but she isn't labeled the villainess, she just ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time later and she knows it's going to happen. Frequently the point at which the story begins is her engagement is broken by the noble or prince she had been engaged to, just as her past knowledge comes into her brain. The man had believed accusations from another female, or sometimes she did act badly before she remembered everything. Usually this reveals the ML as a weak guy anyway, and sometimes she ends up with someone else in the end. As you can see there are a lot of permutations of this. This story doesn't so far have a huge amount of the romance overtones, but in a way, that usually is the frame for all these stories. I think they differ from straight romance in that the FL usually proves she can succeed in other ways than just by winning over the man. Mostly that way is politics, business, or magic; here we have medicine. Btw, her reverse harem isn't always harem-y. I think it just that we're so used to anime with an abundance of female supporting characters and a relative lack of male supporting characters. And when there are female supporting characters they all adore the ML. That's not always true in these shoujo-isekai, w/ or w/out villainess.

One thing I wanted to make a point to mention is that I am pretty sure I heard you say the c-word. I am here to request you not use that word, please. To me there are few words worse than that. I have never heard any other reactor use it. I don't usually go around asking people to not say words, but I feel I have to make an exception. I apologize if I misheard you.
