I'm happy to announce that we just reached our goal of 2000€ on Patreon! 🎉
What does that mean? Well, that means I can now have more time to polish the next updates, and try to achieve a better quality, that means I'm going full-time, so this is "my job" now, and that means, as long as you still want it, that I'm gonna be around here developing games for a long, long, long time! :P
Here's my Patreon growth chart. It's been quite a long journey and, to be honest, I didn't expect to reach our goal when I set it.
I started developing because I love doing it. Before a dev, I was a player, and I really enjoyed these games. So one day, I decided to create my own! I downloaded the programs I needed, I watched some Youtube tutorials, and I got to work!
That was around June 2019, and after maybe 3 months, I published v0.1 version of Once in a Lifetime in September 2019!
Yeah, it wasn't a dream start, I only got 2 patrons, and after 0.2 (2months later), 3 more. After 4 updates and 12 months working on the game, I was earning less than $100 a month.
However, I kept going because I loved working on Once in a Lifetime. With each new update, I learned new things, and because of the lockdown, I had more time to work on the game. Every new "You have a new patron!" email I received, every positive message I read on Discord or in the forums, motivated me to continue.
And now, here we are! I achieved my goal!
(I still have to think about our next goal, but it's probably going to be hiring someone to create custom assets and scenarios or items for my games!)
Every single one of you played my game, and decided it was good enough to support it, and I couldn't be more grateful for it.
I know it sounds cliché, but all this has been possible thanks to you.
So thank you guys, you're the best, I hope we can continue creating more and more stories for a very long time! And no matter how many we are, my DMs are always open, and I'll always answer you!

Lots of good scenes but one special one that made me smiling was the hint about Laurens state. Made me really courious how they will react that more than one of them hides this secret ;)
