Also I ended watching all 8 eps this weekend with my mom(52) and my youngest sister(16) both of them enjoyed it so much that they constantly ask me questions now about certain characters and stuff. My mom also started watching the anime on Netflix. For new watchers it seems right up people's alley. I also really enjoyed the show when I'm taking it as it's own thing. If you constantly try to compare it to the manga or anime you'll just end up disappointed. Certain story aspects have been switched around while some arcs bleed into others However it flows naturally and still contains the core story being told while also nodding at several things that only fans of the original would make note of. All in all it was a solid show. I won't say it's perfect but it does its job in my opinion.
