I truly cannot believe this shit!! Like I had to ponder in the shower to collect my thoughts. Buffy is my child through and through….. so to see her ultimate sacrifice it just hurts. Be brave, hit me harder since I was waiting for the quote because my friend had a tattoo of it.
This show continuously proves to be in my top 5 fav shows of all time. I can’t express how amazing the acting, development, and storyline was this season. A huge pick me up from last season, I’m so excited for S6 (it’s one of my best friends fav season of all time.). If I’m doing a season ranking now from S1-5; it’s 2,5,3,1,4 ❤️. Thank you guys so much for sticking with me lol.

Ugh. This episode always makes me cry, but watching it with YOU has me crying harder than I have since the first time this aired 21 years ago when I was a teenager. Love you reactions Naj!

I actually moved the ranking of season 4 to straight in the middle when I finished the entire series. I know the irony of ranking season 3 #3 and season 4 #4 lol. Season 4 is actually very underrated when it comes to character development. You'll see when you look back on the series after completing it.

I watched this episode about 20 years ago when I was 13 years old, and ever since then this quote has been my heart. Back then most of us also had no idea if there were going to be any more seasons, so I really thought this was the series finale haha.

So proud you pushed through and held it together mostly. Our girl new it was her time and she went out protecting the world with no fear. I felt bad for Dawn though losing both Buffy and Joyce. 😢

2022-05-17 09:25:17 +0000 UTCyeah I remember all of the news being that it was cancelled when I watched it at the time. We didn’t find out for weeks afterward that UPN picked it up. I remember being in the middle of the actual grieving process when the news dropped that the show had been saved.

I LOVED all the foreshadowing, even the dream episode, Tara did say “Be back before Dawn” and Buffy died at Dawn, to Spike telling Buffy that deep down all Slayers have a death wish and the minute they wonder about it they end up dying, Tara pointing at Giles and saying “YOU’RE A KILLER!”, and so much more. As problematic Joss Whedon is he did create a phenomenal story, and there’s still more too come.

I can't link the news articles cause some of them are spoilery. But The WB did promote it as The WB series finale meaning it was over on the WB which is pretty shitty.

(trying to articulate it... ) More than family... my sister, my daughter... 🥺 This episode, though. It's been such a build up. I'm sure you'll hear this a million times- Faith's line back in Graduation Day Part 2: "Little Miss Muffet counting down from 7-3-0" 365 x 2 = 730 aka 2 years - from the end of S3 to the end of S5, when Buffy was going to die 😣
