May art piece WIP reveal!
Added 2024-04-30 00:23:28 +0000 UTCHello all! Today I'm super excited to finally show what I've been cooking up for this month! I want to do an SFW piece and go all out on it, and so here's the sketch for it! It'll be Wenke stood before the campfire, performing a rite to make camp as the sun falls over one of the many valley, one all too familiar to the feline, yet at the same time new and unexplored. He knows the general nature, what to look out for on the roads, or lack there of, throughout the lands, but not what lay ahead! Today he's found a little ruin to make camp in, a perfect spot for a curious cat I say!
I mentioned an NSFW counterpart to this piece, I think I'll try to sketch it soon but for the most part I really want to put my focus into this piece, because I've been wanting to do a really complex cool SFW piece for a long time and haven't had the chance. In the meantime, some day coming up I might try to make some fun doodles to release here in between working on this piece.

2024-05-03 07:21:31 +0000 UTCDef agree! A background can add a lot to any subject, either fleshing out the pre-existing concept or adding details that recontextualize what was already there; very cool! And 'Wen-kuh' sounds really cute, so def not a bad choice of mispronunciations lol

I love making backgrounds and have been steadily getting better at them, to me they're as much a character as what's in the foreground, and can really accentuate a scene and make it all the better ^^ -- as for Wenke, I don't rightly know. IIRC it's an old German name meaning friend. As I understand it it's "ven-kuh" but at times I catch myself saying "wen-kuh" dfhghdfghd >w<
