Some changes potentially coming in November

Apple is borking Patreon over, and as a consequence, Patreon is lowkey borking the creators! :D

Basically what is happening - Apple wants to take even greater cuts from your wallet IF you use their iOS app to use Patreon, starting this November. Something like extra 30% or something, which is... oof.

So as a retaliation to that, Patreon is attempting to make every creator switch over to subscription billing - which means you (my supporters) would get charged on the date you subscribed (current model is, you get charged on the day you pledge, then on the 1st of next month) but they are giving me and every other creator the option to opt out until November 2025, when it will become mandatory. Basically just delaying it.

It's not a bad system, but for many creators like myself, I rely on the monthly payout because I need to pay rent, bills, food, and taxes, so a stable monthly income helps me budget things accordingly.

Few notes:

• Current pledges will not be affected, so if you stay subscribed by the time changes go through, nothing will change for you.

• If I switch over to subscription billing, it would only affect new pledges.

Since I always value your opinions, suggestions and criticisms, I want to see if it would be viable for all of us for me to switch over to subscription billing even before November 2025. I don't want this Patreon to be something that benefits me at the cost of your convenience and you having to pay more. They even suggest charging more for the tiers to offset Apple's taxes but like...NO.

So, I want to see before I make any decisions, how many of you are ACTUALLY using the iOS app vs Patreon app/using it through a web browser. So please vote in this poll so I can get a better picture! 🙏

That being said, I would strongly suggest NOT using the iOS app, because I don't want them greedily charging you more! That would benefit both you and me.
