Chapter 207: African Hand Drum

Instantly, the gun-wielding hands of the two gang members in front of Maria were snapped by an invisible force.

The screams of the two men drew the attention of the other two gang members, who immediately raised their guns to shoot Maria. But these two were also flung into the roadside bushes by an unseen power.

Roy narrowed his eyes at Maria and Madison. These two must have been the ones who did that.

After quietly activating his Eyes of Truth, he could see a blurry figure standing next to Maria. This should be her Stand… oops, her witch talent.

And Madison had completely used telekinesis to throw the two gang members away.

These two witches' talents were way stronger than that trashy Black Widow thing Zoey had.

The sudden change of events left Simon completely bewildered because what had just happened was too magical.

Maria hadn't even touched her subordinates, yet their hands were broken. Madison just raised her hand, and the other two subordinates were launched into the bushes like they were shot out of a cannon.

For safety's sake, Simon took a few steps back and then gave the order.

"Take them out, leave no one alive!"

All the gang members pulled out guns. Most were handguns, but two of them were even holding submachine guns. This was some serious firepower.

This was Roy's time to shine. He directly stepped forward, blocking the three girls, trying to use his body to shield them from the bullets.

The three girls reacted differently to this.

Zoey was very touched. She now felt like Roy was her hero.

Maria was a little surprised and couldn't help but take a few more glances at Roy.

Only Madison's reaction was a bit strange.

"Get out of the way, you're blocking my view!"

With that, Madison pushed Roy aside and then raised both hands to her left and right.

In an instant, the cars behind the gang members started flipping over under Madison's control, directly crushing these Irish mobsters, including the nightclub owner Simon, into meat patties.

Just like that – simple and brutal!

Roy looked at Madison in surprise. This kind of telekinetic ability was seriously powerful.

He hadn't expected this bitchy witch to be so strong!

However, multitasking and controlling two cars at the same time probably took a lot of energy. Roy noticed that Madison's face had become much paler.

But even so, Madison still had to show off a little. She glanced at the others with a slightly smug look.

"So?"

Zoey was full of envy. Her talent was really too weak.

Maria, on the other hand, just curled her lip. In terms of destructive power, her Stand attack was indeed no match for Madison's, but its ability to kill a specific target wasn't necessarily worse.

After all, a Stand attack was silent and without any warning, and it could also ignore telekinesis.

"Not bad, I guess."

Roy, however, didn't hesitate to give praise.

"That was awesome!"

At this moment, Madison remembered that there was still an outsider, Roy, present.

Uh, well, maybe not exactly an outsider.

This feeling of uncertainty made Madison feel at a loss.

"Roy, aren't you scared?"

"Why would I be scar… watch out!"

Roy pushed Madison to the side, and then there was a series of gunshots.

It turned out that the two gang members Madison had thrown into the bushes earlier were taking potshots. Madison was so eager to show off that she had forgotten about these two.

Now, the bullets that were originally aimed at Madison all hit Roy, which made Madison incredibly angry.

"You damn things, die!"

With a flick of her hand, Madison lifted a car and smashed it down on the two gang members.

"Roy, are you okay?"

Zoey looked anxiously at Roy, who had been shot and was lying on the ground. Tears were already welling up in her eyes. Madison also had a look of懊惱 (annoyance and self-reproach) on her face, constantly blaming herself in her heart.

Only Maria was relatively calm. She noticed that there wasn't much blood on the ground, which was very unreasonable.

After all, Roy had just been shot more than a dozen times. So many bullet holes should have caused blood to flow all over the ground by now.

"Stop crying! He's not bleeding at all!"

Maria's reminder stunned Zoey and Madison. Zoey, in particular, still had tears streaming down her face, which looked a bit comical.

Seeing that he couldn't keep up the act, Roy turned around and looked at the three girls with a grin.

"Hey there!"

"Not good at all!"

Madison kicked Roy's leg angrily. Even Zoey, who was the most lovestruck, punched Roy's chest a bit angrily.

But after punching him, Zoey started stroking Roy's strong chest muscles. Earlier, when she was "driven," she was completely passive and hadn't had a good feel of these muscles yet.

This made Madison a little uncomfortable.

"Zoey, what are you doing, groping him in public!"

Zoey instantly woke up and then defended herself with a flushed face.

"Huh? I didn't! I just wanted to see why Roy was okay after being shot?"

This was also a question that Madison and Maria wanted to know.

Maria crossed her arms and looked at Roy with interest.

"Could it be that you're also a superpowered individual?"

Roy spread his hands.

"Actually, I'm an angel."

Madison curled her lip, her face full of disbelief.

"There's no way an angel would be this horny!"

Why didn't anyone believe him when he told the truth? Roy had Nephilim blood, and the Renegade's ability could also transform him into an angel. How could that not count as an angel?

"Okay, fine, then I'm a demon, is that okay?"

Zoey laughed and patted Roy, the tear stains on her face still not dry.

"Roy, don't joke around!"

As she spoke, Roy suddenly sensed a trace of danger. This was the precognition brought by his Assassin's Heart ability.

Roy quickly activated his Eyes of Truth ability, and Madison and Zoey saw Roy's pupils turn silver-white.

Then, Roy saw a blurry figure attacking him.

He grabbed backhanded, but caught nothing.

The blurry figure had no physical form at all, but Roy's hand was injured by it.

It could actually penetrate his defenses?

Roy looked at Maria in surprise. This Stand attack was really something.

Maria was also very surprised. She wanted to test Roy's strength, so she had controlled her soul Stand to attack.

But she hadn't expected that an attack that could easily cut through steel would only leave a shallow wound on Roy's hand.

"Maria, what are you doing!"

Madison looked at Maria angrily, who looked back at her with an indifferent expression.

"Nothing, Madison. I just wanted to help you test if this man is worth playing with."

Roy narrowed his eyes at Maria, a wicked smile appearing on his face.

"Do you know how I deal with bad kids?"

Maria raised an eyebrow, realizing the meaning behind Roy's smile. She immediately took a few steps back and controlled her Stand to stop Roy.

Unfortunately, Maria's soul Stand could indeed barely break through Roy's defenses, but stopping him was a bit difficult.

Roy launched himself forward, pouncing on Maria.

Madison and Zoey only felt a blur before their eyes, and Roy had already pinned Maria against the hood of a Ferrari 360 Modena.

Still in that butt-protruding position!

This position made Maria feel very ashamed. Don't let her always calm and collected expression fool you; she actually cared a lot about her reputation.

[Discovered special character Maria, you can absorb the power of fate to obtain rewards!]

"Bastard! Let go of me! Or I'll kill you!"

Maria struggled desperately, but Roy was determined to teach this girl a lesson, otherwise, he didn't know what she might do.

Enduring the attacks of the soul Stand, Roy felt that this wasn't very convenient, so he turned his head and called out to Madison and Zoey.

"Come over and help me hold her down!"

Zoey was still hesitating, but Madison had already rushed over and grabbed one of Maria's hands. She had long been annoyed by the arrogant Maria and wasn't going to miss this opportunity to teach her a lesson.

Not only that, but Madison also actively called out to Zoey.

"Zoey, don't just stand there, hurry up and help!"

Zoey ultimately sided with Madison. After all, they had a bit of camaraderie.

And so, Roy successfully freed his hands and then began playing the African hand drum on Maria's taillights.

"I'll kill you! I'm going to kill you!"

"Stop hitting me, please!"

"Ah! I can't take it anymore, let me go!"

...

[Ding! Obtained Maria's conquest treasure chest! Open it?]

Maria's transformation from being tough at the beginning to begging for mercy in the middle, and finally to being flushed all over and panting madly, was quite significant.

Moreover, Roy had actually obtained Maria's conquest treasure chest, which was a bit outrageous.

Could it be that this Maria, who looked like a super Alpha girl, was actually a hidden masochist?

That was quite a contrast!

After a few minutes of "drumming," Roy finally stopped.

At this time, Maria's hip circumference had actually increased by several centimeters, swollen very high.

"Don't let me catch you doing bad things again, or I'll spank your butt next time!"

Maria nodded with tears in her eyes, looking incredibly pitiful.

But Roy had always been hard-hearted.

"Also, from now on, you have to do good deeds to make up for the mistakes you've made in the past!"

Maria nodded again, awkwardly wiggling her taillights.

"Alright, let me take you back!"

Roy took Madison, Zoey, and Maria back to school.

At the gate of the witch school, Madison stopped Roy.

"Roy, you can just drop us off here. There's a magical barrier around the school, and outsiders will be detected if they go in!"

She wasn't letting him in? Wouldn't that make all his efforts tonight a waste?

Roy looked at the three girls with deep affection.

"But what if I want to see you again?"

Madison bit her lip.

"Roy, I'll find a way for you to bypass the detection barrier. Just give me a few days!"

"Okay, then I'll wait for your news. Here's my phone number."

After getting his phone number, Madison and Zoey took turns kissing Roy.

But to the surprise of the two girls, Maria also kissed Roy, causing them to exchange strange looks.

Maria quickly explained.

"I, I just wanted to seem more… sociable!"

Madison had an "I understand" expression. She had seen many people with Maria's personality in Hollywood.

"Roy, we're going in!"

Just as the three girls limped into the school, the Supreme Witch Fiona arrived alone at the Salem witch cemetery.

Arriving at the tombstone where Nan had heard the voice in the morning, Fiona paused slightly before beginning to cast a spell.

In the blink of an eye, the tombstone flipped over, and the soil split in two, revealing the scene beneath: a corpse wrapped in a shroud.

There were golden, mysterious runes on the old shroud.

As the Supreme Witch, Fiona's knowledge was naturally extraordinary. She could tell that these golden runes were the work of the Church, probably meant to prevent the resurrection of the dead.

"Interesting!"

Fiona raised her hand, and the corpse floated up. With another wave of her hand, the grave returned to its original state, and then she took the corpse to her car.

However, Fiona didn't notice that someone was watching her.

As the Supreme Witch, she should have been able to detect someone watching, but the stalker seemed to blend in with nature.

In Fiona's perception, there was only a small squirrel in that location.

Fiona drove away, and the stalker quietly followed.

Arriving at a house in the suburbs of Boston, Fiona carried the female corpse inside.

This should be Fiona's home. The interior decoration was very luxurious.

"Let me see what's so special about you!"

With a raise of her hand, the shroud on the female corpse automatically unwrapped, revealing the alluring body of a beautiful woman inside.

Underneath the shroud was complete nudity, making one wonder if this female corpse had been subjected to some special treatment before her death.

Fiona began to pace around the female corpse, her mind full of doubts.

Logically speaking, the victims of the Salem witch trials had been dead for at least three hundred years and should have long since decomposed.

But this female corpse's body was still fresh, and even her skin was still elastic, with no signs of stiffness at all.

If it weren't for seeing the female corpse's cloudy vitreous humor, Fiona would have thought she had just died.

Moreover, Fiona didn't find any external injuries on the female corpse's body. She looked like she had died of natural causes.

After observing for a while, Fiona's patience began to wear thin.

"I know you're not dead. Why won't you talk to me?"

The female corpse still didn't respond. Fiona's patience ran out completely, so she reached out and made the female corpse float in front of her.

"If you don't speak, don't blame me for being impolite!"

As she spoke, Fiona began to release witchcraft.

In an instant, the female corpse's skin and flesh split open, but strangely, not much blood flowed out.

This surprised Fiona greatly. The female corpse seemed to be really dead.

Could it be that she had thought wrong?

Fiona frowned. With another wave of her hand, she directly severed the female corpse's head. The female corpse still didn't react.

Now Fiona was certain that she had overthought things.

"F**k! What a waste of my time!"

Fiona walked towards the bathroom angrily. She felt like she had gotten some corpse odor on herself, which was intolerable for the fastidious Fiona.

Not long after Fiona left, a figure quietly sneaked into Fiona's house.

Female corpse (Olwyn Catherine Kelly)

Chapter 208: I'll Send Him to Join His Son

"Who's there!"

Fiona, who was taking a bath, suddenly felt something was wrong and immediately wrapped a towel around herself before stepping out.

Then, Fiona discovered that the female corpse she had just placed there had vanished, and her front door was wide open.

"Who is it!"

Fiona's face turned ashen. Having someone break into her home like this was a tremendous humiliation for the Supreme Witch.

On the other side, the female corpse was taken by a person in a black robe to a swampy area on the outskirts of Boston. There stood a dilapidated small wooden cabin.

The black-robed figure lowered their hood, revealing a delicate face underneath. It was a woman.

The woman touched the severed head of the female corpse, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Wendy, I finally found you!"

The woman cradled the corpse's head in her arms, a sight that was still quite eerie.

After a while, the woman put the corpse's head back in place and then took out some dark, damp soil from a cabinet, smearing it on the severed neck of the corpse.

A miraculous thing happened. The corpse's head actually reattached to its neck, leaving only a faint red mark.

Immediately after, the woman used the same dark, damp soil to cover the entire body of the corpse.

Before long, the wounds on the corpse inflicted by Fiona had completely healed.

A little while later, the corpse's chest began to rise and fall slightly. It had actually started breathing again.

"Misty, is that you?"

The woman, who was indeed Misty, hugged the corpse—or rather, what was no longer a corpse.

"Wendy, yes! It's me!"

Misty possessed the incredible ability to bring the dead back to life!

"Misty, how long have I been dead?"

"Three hundred years, a full three hundred years have passed! I've been searching everywhere for your body, and today I finally found you!"

"Has it really been three hundred years?"

Three hundred years was an unimaginable amount of time, enough for the world to completely change. Wendy couldn't help but look dazed.

"What happened to our other companions?"

Misty wiped away her tears.

"Most of them died in that catastrophe. Many of their bodies couldn't even be found, including Jennifer, who was reduced to ashes. But some of them escaped to Maine and established a coven there, though I haven't contacted them."

Wendy fell silent, the reality of the changes overwhelming her. It would probably take her a long time to accept.

"Misty, I'm a little hungry. Could you get me something to eat?"

"Of course, no problem at all!"

Time flew by, and the next day arrived quickly. Emma, who had been sleeping soundly, was suddenly woken up. She opened her eyes and saw it was Maria.

"What's wrong, Maria?"

"Emma, I remember you have that healing potion the headmistress gave you. Could I borrow it for a moment?"

This was the first time Maria had ever spoken to Emma on her own initiative, which greatly surprised the little girl.

"Maria, are you hurt?"

As she spoke, Emma took out the healing potion from a drawer. The bottle was only about one-third used.

Maria wore an expression of embarrassment.

"Yes, could you help me put some on?"

"Of course!"

Maria lay face down on the bed and pulled down her pants.

Only then did Emma understand why Maria looked so embarrassed. The location of the injury was indeed quite awkward.

But for some reason, Emma felt a strange sense of déjà vu regarding the location of Maria's injury.

Could it be...? A certain suspicion arose in Emma's mind.

So, while applying the potion to Maria, Emma tried to get some information out of her.

"Maria, how did you get hurt here?"

Maria clearly didn't want to reveal the details and stammered, avoiding the topic.

Just at that moment, Madison and Zoe walked in with very awkward gaits. Hearing Emma's question, they immediately spilled the beans about Maria.

"Hehe, Maria got beat up by a cute boy! Didn't expect that, did you, Emma?"

Emma's heart tightened. It was just as she suspected!

Emma was all too familiar with this kind of thing!

Just yesterday, Emma was wondering when Roy would find his way here. Little did she know she'd receive news about him today.

"Emma, could you hurry up? We want to borrow that healing potion too!"

Seeing Emma's movements slow down, Madison urged her.

"Almost done!"

Emma quickly finished applying the potion to Maria and then handed the bottle to Madison and Zoe.

"Madison, Zoe, don't you need my help applying the potion?"

"No, no! We can do it ourselves!"

Zoe quickly refused. The location of their injuries was even more embarrassing than Maria's.

Madison snatched the green potion.

"We'll take it back to our dorm to apply it. We'll return it to you when we go for breakfast!"

With that, the two girls limped out of Emma's dorm room.

When breakfast time arrived, Fiona appeared at the dining table. She seemed to be in a terrible mood today, her face grim the entire time.

This made the young witches at the table even more afraid to breathe too loudly.

Fortunately, nothing unexpected happened after breakfast, which relieved the group of young witches.

However, just as breakfast ended and the first class was about to begin, the unexpected did occur.

A group of men in black suits with stern faces walked into the witches' school and found Fiona.

"Ms. Fiona, we'd like to have a word with you."

After Fiona spoke with the leader of the black-suited men for a few moments, her face darkened even further, looking like it was about to rival that of her nemesis, the Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.

"Did anyone sneak out last night!"

None of the young witches dared to answer.

Zoe felt a bit flustered. She hadn't expected the events of last night to come to light so quickly.

In comparison, Madison and Maria were much calmer. These two were frequent troublemakers and were already used to this kind of situation.

There was no way around it. The Boston branch of the FEA (Federal Espionage Agency) specifically monitored the Witch Council. No matter what supernatural event occurred, they would always come to the Witch Council first.

Fiona first looked at Carrie. This one had the longest record, and the major incident that happened last night was quite serious.

"Carrie, was it you?"

Carrie completely ignored Fiona's words, forever lost in her own world. This made Fiona, who was already in a bad mood, even angrier.

She directly used her telekinetic abilities to lift Carrie into the air, but Carrie's body instantly burst with a red light, directly breaking free from Fiona's control.

After landing, Carrie looked coldly at Fiona, as if she were looking at a corpse.

"You dare to defy me!"

Fiona felt her authority as the Supreme Witch being challenged. Just as she was about to strike Carrie again, Cordelia stopped her.

"Mother, it shouldn't be related to Carrie. She never likes to leave her room."

"Call me Supreme Witch!"

Fiona glared at her daughter.

Indeed, Carrie was even more well-behaved than the most obedient girl. She always stuck to the same three places: classroom, dining hall, and dorm room, never going anywhere else.

But Fiona was still very dissatisfied. After glaring at her daughter Cordelia, she suppressed her anger and continued to question them.

"Who was it last night? Confess immediately! If I find out on my own, you'll all be finished!"

Fiona unleashed her full aura, scaring Zoe so much that she visibly trembled. This reaction was immediately noticed by the Supreme Witch.

"Zoe, you tell me!"

Zoe, who had been called out, subconsciously looked towards Madison and Maria. This reaction was also noticed by Fiona.

Fiona smirked coldly.

"Good! Very good! Looks like there are two accomplices too! Madison, Maria, you two step forward as well!"

Madison glared at Zoe. The three girls stood before Fiona.

Fiona slapped each of them across the face, hitting them hard. The three teenagers' faces instantly swelled up.

Big star Madison had never suffered such an indignity before. Even when she had to take a hit for a role, they always used a stunt double. She immediately couldn't help but lash out at Fiona.

"You old bitch, you dare hit me!"

Without saying another word, Fiona once again cast a spell, pinning Madison to the wall.

Madison still wanted to continue cursing, but she felt soap bubbles constantly appearing in her mouth, choking her and causing her great pain.

"Looks like I need to wash your mouth out, Madison!"

This scene showed everyone present the power of the Supreme Witch, especially Zoe and Maria.

The two of them had witnessed Madison's great power last night, but this young witch was being played with by Fiona as if she were nothing.

At this moment, the FEA representative coughed twice, interrupting Fiona's punishment.

"Ahem! Ms. Fiona, could you hand these three suspects over to the Federal Response Agency?"

Fiona immediately released Madison and, turning around, grabbed the FEA representative.

"Who do you think you're talking to? I am the Supreme Witch of the Witch Council! My responsibility is to protect witches, not hand them over to the federal government!"

With that, Fiona flung the FEA representative away.

The other FEA agents immediately began to draw their guns, but then they discovered that the hands holding their guns were becoming uncontrollable, all of them pointing towards their own heads.

"Ms. Fiona, no!"

The FEA representative on the ground quickly begged for mercy. If these agents were to die here, he would definitely be finished.

Fiona looked at the FEA representative with a fierce gaze.

"The ones who died last night were nothing but gangsters, scum of society. And for these people, you want to take away three precious witches?"

The FEA representative opened his mouth, uttering a single sentence.

"There was also a congressman's son..."

"Then you can send that congressman over here, and I'll send him to join his son!"

Fiona's attitude couldn't be clearer. She would punish the young witches who made mistakes, but there was no way she would allow the federal government to take them away.

Watching the incomparably powerful Supreme Witch, many of the young witches present revealed expressions of admiration.

Even Zoe and Maria, who had just been slapped, showed envious expressions, thinking how wonderful it would be if they were the Supreme Witch.

Only Madison, who was forced to rinse her mouth with soapy water, continued to glare at Fiona with resentment.

In the end, the FEA representatives left in a dejected manner. They really had no way to deal with the Supreme Witch Fiona.

As for Zoe and the others, the matter was not over.

"Don't think a slap on the face is the end of it! Cordelia, take Madison, Zoe, Maria, and that Carrie to the isolation room! No food or drink for them within 24 hours!"

Cordelia sighed. She had a soft heart but didn't dare to disobey her mother's orders.

"Yes, Supreme Witch."

Cordelia walked over to Madison, released the spell on her, and then led the four girls to the school's basement.

This place was originally a warehouse used to store supplies during the Civil War. Later, after the house was bought by the Witch Council, it became a place to put students in detention.

"Reflect on your actions here, and don't make this kind of mistake again in the future!"

After speaking, Cordelia closed the door to the isolation room.

The isolation room was empty, without even a place to sit. The only light came from a small window high up on the wall, but it was so high that the girls couldn't reach it even by standing on tiptoes.

The atmosphere in the isolation room was very silent. After a long while, Zoe suddenly spoke apologetically.

"I'm sorry. It's because of me that you guys got caught."

Madison shook her head.

"It's not your fault. You just got to school, it's normal to be scared of that old bitch Fiona!"

Clearly, Madison hated Fiona more than Zoe did.

Fiona had basically rubbed Madison's dignity into the ground, something Madison couldn't possibly tolerate.

Hearing Madison's reply, Zoe felt slightly relieved, but Maria's next words made her feel a bit uncomfortable again.

"Zoe, I think you need to work on your courage. Otherwise, who will dare to take you out to play in the future?"

These words resonated with Madison, but she also wanted to complain about Maria.

"Maria, if you hadn't killed that congressman's son, would any of this have happened? That old bitch wouldn't have even known we snuck out last night!"

Maria shrugged and then pointed to her butt.

"So I've already paid the price. What else do you guys want?"

This small gesture made Carrie giggle. The other three girls looked at Carrie in surprise. It was the first time they had ever seen this girl laugh.

Carrie's expression quickly returned to seriousness, making Zoe wonder if she had just imagined it.

Then, Zoe poked Maria's butt.

"Ouch!"

Maria had only applied the potion once, and her butt was still very sore. That poke almost made her jump up.

As a result, Carrie laughed out loud again, which made Madison's eyes light up.

She hadn't expected Carrie, the witch who had killed hundreds of people, to have such a low threshold for laughter. This was really surprising.

"Zoe, I suddenly remembered a joke!"

Carrie quickly spoke to stop Madison.

"Definitely don't tell a joke!"

Maria looked at Carrie in surprise.

"So you can talk? I thought you were mute!"

"I... of course I can talk, I just didn't want to."

Carrie's voice was a bit timid, not at all like that of a witch who had killed hundreds of people.

However, Carrie had just easily broken free from Fiona's control, something Madison couldn't even do.

So, Madison's eyes rolled around, and she made a suggestion.

"I think it must be fate that the four of us are locked in this isolation room together. Should we team up and fight our enemies together in the future?"

Maria saw through Madison's intentions, but doing so would also benefit her, so she didn't expose her.

"Count me in!"

Seeing this, Zoe also chose to join the alliance.

Carrie, however, seemed uninterested in teaming up, and then Madison said she was going to tell a joke.

Having no other choice, Carrie had to agree.

The four young witches stacked their hands together, making a pact.

At this moment, Zoe raised a question.

"Shouldn't we come up with a name for our group?"

Misty Day (Lily Rabe)

Chapter 209: Gotta Jack Up the Price

After sending the four disobedient little witches to detention, Fiona was still fuming. It took a while for her mood to finally settle down.

Fiona sat in her office, silently looking at the mirror on her desk.

Although the woman in the mirror was already in her sixties, she still retained her charm and looked no older than her daughter Cordelia, who was in her thirties.

But as she looked, Fiona suddenly began to cough violently. The coughing fit ended with her spitting out a large pool of black liquid.

"Looks like this body can't hold on for much longer!"

Fiona muttered to herself as she looked at the mirror.

Just as she was thinking this, someone knocked on the office door.

Fiona quickly wiped away the black liquid on the floor and tidied herself up.

"Come in!"

The person who knocked was Fiona's daughter, Cordelia.

"Mother, I've already settled things with the FEA. They won't pursue the matter from last night any further."

Cordelia looked at her mother, Fiona, seemingly wanting to receive praise.

But Fiona only glanced at Cordelia indifferently, as if her daughter's actions were to be expected.

This made Cordelia feel somewhat dejected. Her greatest desire was to gain her mother Fiona's approval, but because of her relatively weak personality and her strength being far inferior to that of the Supreme Witch, Fiona had long since given up on nurturing her. From a very young age, Cordelia had been left to her own devices.

Even many students didn't really respect Cordelia, like Madison, for example.

Because of this, Cordelia felt a great deal of pain inside, but unfortunately, there was no one she could confide in.

"Good job. Those FEA guys are getting bolder and bolder. They actually dared to ask me for people. Have I not made a move in recent years, so they've forgotten my power?"

Cordelia knew that her mother Fiona had a very fiery temper when she was younger and had clashed with the federal government several times, which led to the Witches' Council's current detached status. However, some things are best done in moderation. The federal government couldn't just keep tolerating it; they weren't turtles.

There would always be someone in charge who would cause things to spiral out of control.

"Mother, are you not feeling well today?"

Fiona turned her head to look at Cordelia.

"What do you think?"

Cordelia didn't dare to ask any more questions.

"Mother, if there's nothing else, I'll head out."

"Wait a minute!"

Just as Cordelia was about to leave, Fiona stopped her.

"Is there anything else, Mother?"

"Is Myrtle Snow at the school?"

Hearing this, Cordelia was very surprised.

Myrtle Snow was a teacher at the witches' school, not the kind of cultural studies teacher hired from outside, but a teacher who taught witchcraft. She was also a member of the Witches' Council.

Here, it's necessary to explain the structure of the Witches' Council. The head of the Witches' Council is undoubtedly the Supreme Witch.

However, the Supreme Witch cannot act arbitrarily, because beneath the Supreme Witch there is also a Witches' Council, composed of three to nine highly respected elder witches. Their main job is to supervise the Supreme Witch and prevent the Supreme Witch from doing anything detrimental to all witches.

This council usually doesn't have much presence, but it has the authority to judge witches who have committed wrongdoings.

Of course, the rules within the witches' community are relatively simple. Generally, unless it involves the killing of other witches, this council won't get involved.

You see, Madison killed more than a dozen members of the Irish mob, and didn't the Supreme Witch handle that herself?

The logic is simple: the Witches' Council is to protect "witches," not ordinary people.

What truly surprised Cordelia was that Myrtle Snow and Fiona were witches from the same era. They had been at odds with each other since childhood and hadn't spoken in years.

On the other hand, Cordelia had a very good relationship with Myrtle. After all, when Cordelia was still a little witch, Myrtle was already a teacher at the witches' school. Now that Cordelia was the headmistress, she had been getting along with Myrtle for over a decade.

"Myrtle doesn't have any classes today, so she's not at school."

A flicker passed through Fiona's eyes.

"Is that so? Then never mind, you can go."

Cordelia really wanted to ask her mother why she was asking about Myrtle, but their relationship was actually very cold, so after hesitating, Cordelia didn't ask.

After the office returned to silence, Fiona spat out another mouthful of black liquid.

It turned out that Fiona's calm and collected demeanor just now was all an act. Her health was deteriorating very rapidly.

"Damn it! I must find the next Supreme Witch! I can't keep dragging this on! But before that, I still need to find out who was behind what happened last night!"

The mysterious witch corpse brought home last night inexplicably disappeared, which made Fiona very concerned. As the Supreme Witch, she hadn't sensed it at all, which was very dangerous.

After thinking for a moment, Fiona cleaned up the black liquid she had spat out, then stood up and prepared to leave the office.

Just then, the phone on her desk rang.

"Hello, this is Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, Fiona Goode speaking."

"Respected Supreme Witch, this is Bartholomew from Amaranth."

Fiona's heart skipped a beat, and her voice became lighter.

"Oh, Ms. Bartholomew, what a surprise! What brings you to call me today?"

"Ha! Can't an old friend just want to chat?"

"Don't say such things, Bartholomew. You and I are both getting on in years; we don't have that much time to waste."

Bartholomew's tone on the other end of the phone changed.

"Actually, there is something I wanted to ask you for help with, Fiona."

"Go ahead, seeing as we've had some pleasant collaborations in the past, I can give you a discount."

"Fiona, I need you to take care of someone for me."

"Who?"

"Roy Black!"

This was the third time Fiona had heard the name Roy Black. The first time was from her daughter Cordelia, the second was from the hypnotized Emma, and the third was now from Bartholomew.

"Interesting. Has this person offended you, Bartholomew?"

Bartholomew seemed to sense that Fiona also knew Roy Black, but this old fox definitely wouldn't say it directly.

"It wasn't me he offended, but Amaranth! To be honest, this guy is an off-the-books agent for the FEA, so it might be a bit tricky. But we tracked his cell phone, and it turns out he's in Boston these past few days."

Hearing this, Fiona's expression changed.

Cordelia had brought Roy's cousin Emma to the witches' school, and Roy just happened to be in Boston. His intentions were obvious.

Here, it's necessary to explain why Bartholomew knew Roy was in Boston by tracking his cell phone, rather than through the previous plane crash.

This was because the airline, in order to evade responsibility, had concealed Roy's disappearance and removed his name from the passenger list.

Although the passengers at the time mentioned Roy as the person who forcibly opened the emergency exit and jumped out, they didn't know Roy's name, and the airline suppressed the news.

Only the psychiatrist, Dr. Claire Sheffield, knew Roy's name, but she thought Roy was dead and was currently grieving.

"Well, isn't that a coincidence! I just had a run-in with the FEA this morning. If you want me to take care of this person, you're going to have to raise your price!"

Bartholomew was stunned for a moment, not expecting things to be so coincidental. She didn't think the Supreme Witch would lie about such a small matter, and Amaranth could easily verify whether there had been a conflict.

"Then, what does the respected Supreme Witch desire?"

"My body is having some issues, and I need a targeted drug to maintain my health!"

This was Fiona's contingency plan. If her health deteriorated further and she hadn't found a new Supreme Witch, she would have to rely on technological means to prolong her life.

And Amaranth was a technology company with no conflict with the Witches' Council, making them the most suitable partner.

Bartholomew was silent for a while before replying to Fiona.

"Alright, after you deal with Roy Black, you can come to Amaranth headquarters, and I will personally receive you."

"It's settled then!"

Fiona hung up the phone directly, as she was always so decisive.

"Roy Black, huh? Let's see what tricks you're trying to pull!"

On the other side, Roy was hiding in an apartment building near the witches' school, observing the situation.

He originally thought Madison would contact him soon, but Roy waited until evening without receiving any news, making him suspect he had been stood up.

Roy didn't know that Madison and the others had been put in detention by Fiona, and all their communication tools, like cell phones, had been confiscated.

However, Roy did receive an unexpected call.

"Hello, Jennifer, what can I do for you?"

"My dear little Roy, I'm not Jennifer. I'm Lilith."

"Lilith, you've awakened from your slumber?"

"Naturally. The people from the Witches' Council are gone. Why would I continue to sleep?"

That made perfect sense.

"So, what's the reason for your call?"

"I wanted to ask if you've seen my 'lovely' daughter."

Lilith emphasized the word "lovely," clearly implying a special meaning.

"I don't know who your daughter is yet..."

"I see. My daughter Ophélia's witch talent is the ability to possess the bodies of others, but she can only possess the bodies of pure-blooded humans, and it has to be women. Back then, she took over my body, which led to my current predicament. Maybe my body is still in her hands!"

Roy frowned slightly.

"So, your daughter is hiding in the Witches' Council to obtain a new body?"

"I think so! By possessing others, she can also master their witch talents. However, due to the rejection between the soul and the body, she has to change bodies every so often. Only the Witches' Council has the conditions for this."

Indeed, the Witches' Council had the most complete records of witches in America. As long as she infiltrated the higher ranks of the Witches' Council and then randomly picked a witch, she could change bodies.

After all, most witches' lives were actually similar to ordinary people's, and the Witches' Council was just a loose alliance, with people usually not seeing each other.

However, Lilith's daughter probably wouldn't just randomly possess any witch; she would definitely look for those with powerful talents and outstanding abilities.

Then the most suitable place to observe would be the witches' school.

Fortunately, Emma was a mixed-blood witch with Leviathan blood in her, so she wouldn't become Ophélia's target. That was good news.

"How can I confirm which witch is your daughter?"

"Actually, it's very simple! I remember in the occult, there are many ways to confirm if someone has been possessed. There shouldn't be any witches in the Witches' Council who are possessed. The one who tests positive should be my 'precious' daughter Ophélia."

Roy happened to know the method Lilith was talking about. Because demons couldn't stay in the human world for long, they had to find a human as a vessel, so they usually possessed humans.

Therefore, both the occult and the church had many routines for checking for demonic possession. The principles were similar, which was to check if a person's soul was their original soul.

"I understand. I will help you find your daughter."

Roy had previously promised Lilith that he would help her deal with her daughter, and now it was time to fulfill that promise, especially since Lilith had already paid the "price."

"Oh, my lord, do you need me to come over and help?"

This made Roy's face darken.

"Didn't I tell you not to call me 'lord'?"

"But I feel like every time I call you that, you get especially excited!"

"Stop, don't say any more, or it'll become unspeakable again! Don't you want to avoid being discovered by your daughter?"

Lilith on the other end of the phone paused for a moment before explaining.

"The main reason I don't want to be discovered by my daughter is that I'm afraid if she knows I'm still alive, she'll choose to destroy my body."

Lilith's body was created by God and was among the first humans in the Garden of Eden.

In the Bible, Adam lived for 930 years. Although he didn't display any special powers, the ability to live that long was terrifying enough.

And although Lilith was banished from the Garden of Eden by God, her body also possessed some divinity, and because she had mastered witchcraft, her lifespan was even longer than Adam's.

If possible, Lilith definitely hoped to return to her own body, so she didn't want to be exposed to her daughter Ophélia.

"As long as I hide and don't let her find me, that's enough. Besides, I can provide you with some advice, can't I?"

Indeed, as a witch who had lived for thousands of years, Lilith's mastery of witchcraft was unquestionable, and she could sometimes provide good advice.

For example, the method just mentioned for checking for possession was an idea Lilith provided.

"What about Waterfall Town...?"

"I'll leave a charm on Niddy. If anything happens to her, I'll sense it immediately!"

It seemed Lilith had already made up her mind to come to Boston. There was no use in trying to persuade her otherwise.

"Go put charms on Heather and Penny too before you come. Also, remember to ask Ms. Elizabeth for leave!"

Lilith inexplicably felt that Roy seemed to respect that history teacher Elizabeth a little too much, but she didn't say it out loud.

"No problem! Leave it to me, little master!"

"Shut up, I'm not little at all!"
