"You didn't get a bell."

"You're eliminated!"

"You don't have to go back to the Ninja Academy."

"You don't have to be a ninja anymore!"

Kakashi's words were like a bolt from the blue, striking Naruto and Sakura. Their eyes widened in shock.

They couldn't tell if Sasuke was right, that this was Kakashi's test, or if Kakashi was telling the truth, that Sasuke had sacrificed himself for them. Either way, they were still just twelve or thirteen-year-old kids, and they panicked.

"What do you mean?"

Naruto shouted in a panic, unable to accept Kakashi's words. He couldn't accept it no matter what!

"I made it very clear. Uzumaki Naruto and Haruno Sakura got the bells and passed the test. Uchiha Sasuke doesn't have a bell and doesn't have the aptitude to become a ninja."

He knew Kakashi was watching nearby. Although he had used some tricks, it would achieve excellent results!

"Sasuke, if you can't become a ninja, what's the point of me becoming Hokage!"

Naruto shook his head resolutely and shoved the bell into Sakura's hand.

"If someone has to fail, I want it to be me!"

"Sasuke, I don't like you being alone with Sakura."

As Sakura spoke, tears streamed down her face. She didn't want to do this, but for her teammates, she had to.

A weight lifted from Sasuke's heart. The two of them had acted very naturally and authentically. Kakashi, hiding in the shadows, should have seen everything. This scene wasn't pre-arranged!

Sasuke hadn't expected Kakashi to give them a second test! But... Naruto and Sakura's actions warmed his heart.

"No way!"

Naruto stubbornly shoved his hands in his pockets, using body language to tell Sakura that he had no hands to take the bell.

"Fine, neither of you wants it. What's the point of me becoming a ninja by myself? We might as well all not become ninjas!"

Sakura withdrew the bells from her hands, gathered them in her right hand, and threw them away.

With the sound of the bells colliding, the two bells fell to the ground, right where Kakashi had just left. It was as if she was returning the bells to Kakashi.

After throwing the bells, Sakura felt relieved and sat down on the ground. This wasn't something she should have. It was too heavy!

"Hee hee hee hee hee..."

Seeing this, Naruto let out a silly laugh, scratching his head with a smile on his face.

"This works too. We're teammates who share weal and woe. Even if Kakashi-sensei doesn't want us, we'll find another way!"

Thinking of this, Naruto immediately picked up the lunchbox from the wooden stake and offered it to Sasuke.

"Sasuke, I had ramen earlier. You can have this lunchbox!"

As soon as Naruto finished speaking, Sakura got up and handed her lunchbox to Sasuke as well.

"I had ramen too, Sasuke. You eat it!"

"You guys..."

Sasuke's lips twitched slightly. He wasn't touched, but he felt strange. What was going on with this exercise? He was clearly the strongest one, so why did it feel like he had fallen into Naruto's position in the original story?
