*Chapter 52: Are You Danzo's Man?*

Sasuke’s confident smirk was all Mizuki could focus on.

The boy’s calmness was unnerving. Every word Sasuke spoke felt like a trap, and Mizuki, for all his cunning, found himself ensnared in the web spun by a mere academy student.

Mizuki glanced at the Scroll of Seals in his hands, unsure if holding it was a victory or a burden.

Why does this feel so wrong?

"You... you..." Mizuki stammered, his voice trembling with a mix of frustration and confusion. The scene before him was nothing like what he had envisioned.

Sasuke’s calm demeanor only served to mock him further. The boy leaned back casually, taking another sip of water, as if savoring Mizuki's unraveling composure.

"Surprised?" Sasuke asked, tilting his head mockingly. "Didn’t expect things to play out like this, did you?"

Sasuke felt the thrill as his system points surged. His act was working better than anticipated.

Mizuki clenched his fists tightly, resisting the urge to lash out. This brat… He’s not just clever—he’s dangerous.

For a brief moment, Mizuki’s mind raced. Sasuke’s behavior wasn’t normal for a child, even an Uchiha. Was there someone backing him?

"Are you part of Danzo’s Root?" Mizuki finally blurted out, his voice low and accusatory.

Sasuke arched a brow, as if the question amused him.

"That’s what you said," he replied, his tone deliberately vague. "I didn’t confirm or deny anything."

Mizuki’s suspicions deepened. He’s not denying it...

The thought sent a chill down his spine. If Sasuke truly had ties to Danzo, then this situation was far more precarious than he had realized. Root was known for its shadowy operations and ruthlessness. Crossing them could mean his demise.

"What is your goal, Sasuke?" Mizuki asked, his voice laced with desperation.

Sasuke leaned forward slightly, placing another sealed letter on the table.

"This one is addressed to the Third Hokage," Sasuke said calmly, tapping the envelope with his index finger.

"What does this have to do with me?" Mizuki asked, his eyes narrowing.

Sasuke smiled faintly.

"This letter is forged by Danzo," Sasuke explained. "If things go south with Orochimaru, you can use this to claim you're a Konoha spy. Present this letter to the Third Hokage and say you infiltrated Orochimaru's ranks as part of a covert mission."

Mizuki blinked, stunned.

"Are you insane?!" he hissed. "You think that old man would believe such an obvious lie?"

Sasuke shrugged, unfazed.

"Whether he believes it or not isn’t my concern," he said. "It’s your only way to avoid becoming a hunted missing-nin. Unless, of course, you want to spend the rest of your life running."

The system rewarded Sasuke again, its numbers climbing higher. This combo is incredible!

Mizuki’s mind spun as he stared at the envelope. Sasuke's words were poison, but there was logic in them. Konoha’s spy network was extensive; convincing the Hokage of a deep cover mission wasn’t entirely implausible.

But what unsettled Mizuki more was how effortlessly Sasuke manipulated the situation.

"Why are you helping me?" Mizuki finally asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sasuke’s eyes darkened, his smirk fading into something colder.

"Help?" he repeated. "Don’t misunderstand, Mizuki-sensei. You’re just a pawn on my chessboard. The real game is much bigger than you."

Mizuki froze. The boy’s words were chilling, laced with a maturity far beyond his years.

At that moment, Mizuki realized something terrifying: Sasuke wasn’t just a prodigy of the Uchiha clan. He was something far more dangerous.
