This simple but attractive chest harness is composed of a series of horizontal wraps that are later connected by vertical components running down the outside of the chest.

In this tutorial, I am experimenting with a suggestion made by our members on Discord. I’d like your feedback:
Background
When I mark a tutorial as “Easy” I do so because the content is not too difficult, but when I mark one as Easy, I also try to make no assumptions about what the reader may or may not know, so I go through the tie in heavy step-by-step detail, explaining the what and why of every step.
Quite understandably, having to go through all this detail can be annoying to experienced people who can look at the end product of a series of steps and understand exactly how all that was done.
Experiment
This picture & text section of this tutorial has two versions:
- A Detailed Step-by-Step Version with 86 pictures, intended for those new to rope who might need that extra detail
- A Highlights Version with only 25 pictures, intended for experience people
My question to you:
- What do you think? Is it worth the extra time to do this highlights for tutorials like this?
- …I guess a related question is if you find the heavy detail version helpful in the first place or if this is just too much detail in the first place XD.

Concur with the above comments, having both is super useful at different times and in different circumstances.
2021-06-13 15:20:39 +0000 UTCI agree, having both options is awesome. Even if you have some practice, sometimes your mind goes blank and you don’t remember exactly how that particular knot goes. Especially when you have someone in front of you that you’re trying to tie.
