I don’t think the Overlord class is about acting vile, but rather acting tyrannical and imposing own will. Simon looked at the judging from point of view of the law and maybe some morality, but hasn’t imposed his own rules there.

Oh, and on an unrelated topic, beloved author, will we have the chance to get a map of this world? Everything is better with a map...

A class which encourages the absolute vilest behaviour...yes, it figures Balzam would have thought 'give me this class yesterday!'...I suppose we should have expected it, there was a level gained when Ramsay was sent to the salt mines, which was a cruel punishment if there ever was one... As for the civil war, there's clearly no way the two principal factions have been doing the build-up in the last two months. They clearly were preparing for this sort of bloodbath long before Balzam died his final death. Un-ironically, it means that if Vouivre didn't have to deal with Simon's reigns, her draconic plan might have a good chance to work. This is going to be a War of the Five Kings-type scenario ala Game of Thrones, and the Empire is going to be torn asunder by the massacres, with probably millions dying in the crossfire. If one except the Zodiac Beasts and the coming apocalypse, I have the feeling Simon's greatest challenge will be not to win this civil war, but to ensure somehow the damage stay on the low end.

Good chance that Anna's father will betray Simon.

Simon should have taken Lorimer’s scholar crestone. He already studies a lot, so he would definitely be able to gain some levels in it, while also getting the benefit of studying better as a scholar. And the knowledge would still remain with him in next reigns, even without the class levels

Ah, thanks XD that twist was one of the thing I'd planned since the story's beginning so I set it up a bit alongside everything related to Ichtaca. You'll probably notice some stuff in HR on a reread as well ;)

Could be, or he could be vicious and cruel with them beyond the bounds of what would be fair, like making a spectacle out of it ;) the point is that Overlord rewards terrorizing or dominating others.

Great Chapter, lets see how long Simon survives until he bites the dust this time. On an entirely different topic (SPOILER!!!!!!) Im re-reading Blood & Fur because i bought the first book on amazon and im amazed at how many subtle hints you dropped about the relationship between Nenetl and Iztac. These are things you only really realise when you read it a second time with knowledge and context of what is what and who is who.
Seriously?

So basically, to level up, Simon should let the criminals go in exchange for them signing up to his own mafia or owing him a favour or somesuch?
Edit suggestion:
but that also could have been the doing of wld animals
wld -> wild
