B&C II PDF available for download + Quick HR Poll
Added 2025-10-10 14:53:10 +0000 UTCHi guys,
As promised in last update, the free PDF for Board & Conquest's second volume is now available for download. Board & Conquest Champions Tier can download it in the final chapter of volume 2 (link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/140421748 ) and Dracolich patrons can download it in the treasure trove (https://www.patreon.com/posts/48625485 ). The book won't hit Amazon before months so no rush.
B&C's third volume has been outlined and updates will resume as normal next week. Third volume will complete the trilogy, though I don't exclude expanding it depending on how it performs on Amazon when the series eventually launches there. Hope you'll enjoy this volume as you did the others ;)
Otherwise, as warned in latest chapter, chapters 21+ of Hundred Reigns will begin to be updated behind the Overlord (formerly Blood Sacrifice) tier as I build up a backlog in preparation for publication. The story is flowing incredibly well (can't believe I wrote 20 chapters in two months) so I would hope to release it on RR with a backlog of 30/40 chapters on Patreon.
Otherwise, I intend to keep posting some polls for all paying patrons (I realize I haven't done that for any story in a long while) now and then; and here's one.
I'm considering two potential loops/routes once the current one, Wings of the Dragonlord, concludes. One contains some elements that might make some of you uncomfortable while the other is a bit safer, so you can now pick the one you want the most.
Choose the future loop:
Lord of the Berwick Islands: In a surprise twist, Overlord Magnos has legitimized his son Simon in his testament and engaged him to his cousin Anna, heir to the Berwick Islands. The two return to Anna’s fiefdom to prepare for the transition of power… unaware that an ancient evil lurks in the island; one who might know more about the Crimson Throne than anyone.
Contains: Simon learning lordcraft, Anna romance, and a sinister lich with answers.
Simon the Adventurer: Sick of dying again and again, Simon decides on a bold gambit; to find an Adventurer-related Crestone to consume in order to obtain an exp boosting Perk. To do so, he travels west beyond the empire’s borders in search of a mentor mentioned in his father’s notes… only to find that siblings and usurpers aren't the only people looking for the Overlord.
Contains: lands beyond the empire, a Paladin with a grudge, and an exp boosting Perk.
And that's all for now ;) will be interested to see your pick.
Comments
Alright, with Lord of the Berwick Islands now a winner, Anna & Maublanc Magnos are now Anna & Maublanc Paimon, with Maublanc having been Balzam Magnos' blood-brother during the war and elevated to a princedom for his service (with no blood relationship between the houses in spite of their closeness). I've edited chapters in that sense but please inform me if you find anything that slipped through ;)

2025-10-13 15:08:50 +0000 UTCI’m for the Berwick Isle loop first; he’s there right now and it makes sense time line wise that he would pursue that. Then follow up with a desperate need to gain experience if he fails or it’s a Pyrrhic victory.

2025-10-13 09:09:35 +0000 UTCXP boost has more impact the earlier you get it, so logically it would be better for Simon’s progression to get it asap. Romance this early is pointless if he can’t even protect those he loves. Though I suppose the impact of Simon falling in love and then inevitably failing to protect her again would be a good motivator to get stronger.

2025-10-12 10:14:50 +0000 UTCMaan, i was down to the adventurer route, but u won my vote Edit: i'm going for the exp route, there are other ways of saving Anna and Simon wants to be strong enough to kill Vouivre, also with this there is no cousin romance

2025-10-11 16:05:41 +0000 UTCHere’s my take. By the end of this current route/reign Im pretty certain that Simon will be the most set to “save Anna” as it would end up being by going the Berwick isles route. It makes more sense that he’d do it now then later, and considering the lich might cause that route to end rather grimly. It also makes sense that Simon would then want a chill reign of adventurer and meeting the Paladin might wash away anything extra grim thoughts the Lich infested him with. It just makes more sense for something grim to happen for Simon to need a calm “reset route”

2025-10-11 07:46:01 +0000 UTCI'll also add that I use an actual EXP track system in the background (like the one in Apocalypse Tamer) so it's not level ups at the speed of the plot either ;) it will have a tangible impact on progression.

2025-10-10 21:41:24 +0000 UTCThe faster he gets the exp boost the higher highs he will be able to achive. Remember guys he can only get exp once. That means every exp where he does not get boosted will be lost forever. So the sooner the better.

2025-10-10 21:22:46 +0000 UTCI should add that although I do not like cousin romance, I do not think it would make me drop the book.

2025-10-10 20:11:59 +0000 UTCI like Anna and I would enjoy the romance arc I think, but I voted for the Adventurer option because I think that choice seems more consistent with Simon's character right now. Though of course I'm sure it would be possible to write the rest of this loop in a way that would change that.

2025-10-10 19:48:18 +0000 UTCI'm guessing we'll eventually get both, so I'd rather Simon focus on exp first ;)

2025-10-10 18:25:24 +0000 UTCI like Anna (and I like romances that are a little twisted) so I hope you stick with her as-is and, if not the very next loop, let it happen sometime down the line :c

2025-10-10 18:17:49 +0000 UTCUpon reading the newest chapter, I changed my vote to the Adventuring option because Simon needs to become stronger, and it appears in past loops (of his dad) he had some ties to that second country. This will tie Simon to his past lives while giving him the power in the future to protect Anna. He’s just gotta live longer to get some levels to begin really playing with the big dogs, and he only has a finite time

2025-10-10 17:41:24 +0000 UTCCurse this choice! You can do both! YOU CAN DO BOTH!! But since you're asking, do the romance arc first.

2025-10-10 17:32:39 +0000 UTCim honestly more intrested in the Lich than Anna but she is a nice bonus XD Also if you planig on making the Paladin an Importent figure it wuld be good to make him aper early on.

2025-10-10 17:18:29 +0000 UTCI mean it could simply be changed to Anna's father having been Balzam Magnos' most loyal vassal and become his blood-brother during the war, and been rewarded with the largest fief in return, so you can have extreme familiarity between the two families without making them relatives.
Void Herald
2025-10-10 17:15:08 +0000 UTCOkay I’m torn. Simon DOES need an exp boost. But the Anna storyline seems better for the plot. And I don’t think you should change Anna to a childhood friend because then why is she being hunted? If you want to change Anna’s history a tiny bit, make it so her father was the Overlords first or second cousin instead of his brother, leading to Anna being a second or third cousin, a little more distance without sacrificing the traditions of medieval noble families (which, like, should not have been traditions (looking at you Hapsburgs) in the first place, but were)

2025-10-10 16:52:11 +0000 UTCNo marriage between first cousins on my watch!
Publius Decius Mus
2025-10-10 16:51:07 +0000 UTCStorywise, the Anna option seems better. But I do not like the cousin romance, so I am abstaining from the vote. Someone mentioned that you could rewrite Anna, so she is not a cousin. If that could be pulled off and she does not need to be a part of Magnos bloodline, that would be the best.
MaliMi
2025-10-10 16:31:03 +0000 UTCGiven the nature of the story, I wouldn't mind both. That said, if I had to choose one, I'd pick the spicy number one!
BlaueFeder
2025-10-10 16:26:48 +0000 UTCI'd say that Simon, knowing that this is early on with his loops, would try to set himself up with a stronger baseline before having to focus on lordship and statecraft. Give the cutthroat nature of things are going back at the throne, hard power is needed before soft power.
Treeman4
2025-10-10 15:29:52 +0000 UTCI don't think that far ahead with this one ;)
Void Herald
2025-10-10 15:27:05 +0000 UTCWhat's the context with Slumrat? Yeah I suppose rewritting Anna as a not cousin could work as well; part of why I even put a poll is that I wonder how people would react to it.
Void Herald
2025-10-10 15:26:43 +0000 UTCkissing cousins will bring you the wrong type of crowd. won't forget the guy in Slumrat's Rising who asked for the system to abuse and humiliate the mc. If you rewrite so that Anna is not a blood relative, it might work better. also, waiting for Simon's evil run.

2025-10-10 15:18:07 +0000 UTCThe biggest question is the loop that is not chosen, would it come back in another poll?

2025-10-10 15:17:32 +0000 UTCNeeds more Anna!
