Patreon Update: New Tiers, Perfect Run Game, NDT on KU

Hello everyone,

No extra chapter today, but I still have many, many big news to announce on some very exciting developments: new patreon features, new game adaptation, new ebooks...

- New Tiers: Commerce Hero & Blood Sacrifice

Long-term patrons will know that my patreon has known its ups and downs since implementation; some of my stories are more popular than other, I've changed my update schedule now and then... when we moved from Apocalypse Tamer to go on with CE and B&F, I ran a poll on how to adapt the patreon. Most of you wished to keep existing tiers and simply adapt them.

However, I'm seeing a regular complaint from newcomers: namely, that some here are only there to support one of my stories, not both, and can't afford to pay 10 bucks a month to get full access to the advance chapters. I've been considering how to address those complains for a while now. 

Henceforth, I've created two new 5 dollar tiers as a test: Commerce Hero and Blood Sacrifice. Those two grant access to all chapters of Commerce Emperor and Blood & Fur respectively (but no access to the other story).  They are meant to supplement the Dragon and Dracolich tiers, since those offer access to half the chapters of both stories or access to everything.

This will not change anything for Dracolich and Dragon tiers, who'll still continue to work as they've always done; it's simply an alternative for patrons who are only here to support/read one of my stories and don't care about the other, nor have the funds for a Dracolich tier. Dracolich will also keep exclusive content like the Free ebooks.

A note however, that I'm currently struggling with synching patreon roles with Discord since the Patreon UI change (for a change). Thus the new tiers currently don't have automatic discord benefit yet, so you'll have to manually ask me to give you the roles if you want them. I hope to resolve this in the coming days.

- Perfect Run Game in Development

Ever since I discovered the wonders of RPG Makers, one of my dreams has always been to make a video game; a long time ago, long before I started publishing, I actually worked on some RPG demos. Nothing spectacular, but it really got me interested in game design.

One of my goals when I started publishing was to see one of my novels adapted into a game. While there were brief talks of a Vainqueur the Dragon demo, those plans were put on ice after the Webtoon cancellation. I was kinda disheartened, but didn't lose hope to secure a studio's commitment to a game's production.

And those efforts to finally paid off.

I am very pleased to announce that after lots of work in the background, a Perfect Run game is now officially in development!

The video above is the very first development video, which includes first tests on the time-stop mechanics. As you can see, this is the early beginnings of a very long project, so don't expect the game to hit the shelves until 2025 at the earliest, but I'm super hyped about it.

I'm probably going to offer some semi-sporadic updates on how that project advances, though for now I can't tell much more due to NDA and other development-related issues. Still, I hope to share with you some pictures of gameplay or story content as the months go by. 

- Apocalypse Tamer Webtoon

While this is not exactly a new information (as the confirmation came a month ago) I haven't found a moment to put a detailed update until today. I am thus happy to announce that Apocalypse Tamer will receive a Webtoon adaptation in 2024, courtesy of Aethon and VoyceMe! The webtoon will be part of a general wave of Aethon productions, including adaptations from books like Chrysalis or Tree of Aeons. 

I am also in discussions for a Perfect Run webtoon (which would hopefully complement the game above), but no confirmation yet.

- Never Die Twice on KU on November 25th: last warning to download the PDF

As I've forewarned you a while ago, Never Die Twice is making its way to Kindle Unlimited; I'm relaunching the book in partnership with Mango Media on November 25th, with the promotion campaign starting two days earlier.  

If you're a dracolich patron and haven't dowloaded the free ebook version yet, do so before November 23rd at the latest. It's when I'll be taking down the book from both Patreon and Royal Road to comply with KU's exclusivity guidelines.

- Commerce Emperor & Blood & Fur PDFs for Dracolich

Finally, new PDFs have been added to the Dracolich free ebook reserve: namely the first volumes of Commerce Emperor and B&F. You can find the link here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/48625485

The first B&F volume covers the first 24 chapters, or the Mictlan arc of the story (all the way to Tlalocan). The Commerce Emperor volume covers the first 19 chapters + Prologue, so half of the Archfrost arc and all the way to the battle with Florence and the Knot of Wrath in Snowdrift; my publisher and I agreed to split it in two due to the sheer length of that particular arc.
