It's a lovecraftian fantasy, so no succubi or fallen angels. Expect more eldritch horrors, ghouls, and creepier stuff ;)

2021-08-06 08:58:07 +0000 UTCI feel like Underland might be similar to Overlord. Lord Och is basically Ains Oal Gown, which makes me wonder if there will be succubi vampires and fallen angels. Can you tell us if you have an idea for those kinds of characters in Underland?

2021-08-06 03:10:28 +0000 UTCFirst, the idea of a female MC appealed to me more in Sword & Shield because there was a larger point to make: namely, Xianxia/cultivation is (usually, there are thankfully exceptions) a rather male-dominated genre where woman are either love interests or wallflowers. Having a female MC fight to get recognition as a martial artist in a standard, Xianxia patriarchal society appealed to me (especially since her brother would have been a more support/nonviolent character in contrast). Second, in the case of Underland, while I am considering adding a secondary female POV, I have a very vivid image of Valdemar in my head, from his backstory to where he will eventually end up. Changing his gender would mean a lot more changes than just adjusting the plot a little, it would mean making a brand new character and plotline; and I have gone too far in outlining his character arc and the larger plot to change now.
