New Year Wishes and Updates

First, I want to tell you something.

Thank you for supporting me through the year 2019! It's been a wild ride, and an amazing experience. Patreon has gone from an experiment to a game changer in my life, and I am truly grateful for your support. 

You're awesome. 

You're marvelous.

You're the best. 

So now that 2019 is reaching its end and a new year begins, I would like to introduce a few changes in January... and get your feedback on the Patreon. 

- Patreon Feedback

Since it has been almost a year since I opened the Patreon account, and a lot of it has been experimental. After a few months of it, I would like to receive your feedback over the tiers, if you're satisfied with them, and if you would be interested in more content. 

Would you like more advance chapters for Dracolich tier? Additional content like access to behind the scene rules for the systems I set in place? Or alternatively, you would rather avoid being mentioned in chapters? Something else?

In short, comment below if you have suggestions to improve the patreon for year 2020. 

- Tier One (Minion) will become 1 dollar

There will be a little change about tier one, currently at 3 dollar a month. Since the rewards there are either one-shot or relatively high price for the benefits (I have realized that paying 3 bucks a month for occasional polls seems a bit too much), I will be lowering the tier to 1 dollar on January. That should allow more people to participate in polls.

There will also be changes for the Magik Online part of the content (see below). 

- Magik Online: schedule change and Patreon unplug

It's been no spoiler that I have been experiencing a burnout on this story, especially since the negative reception of the Aster arc. Truth to be told, the reason I even kept with the current schedule was because of the people who subscribed for this story on Patreon. I felt I couldn't let you down and so powered through. 

However, there are a few things that I can no longer ignore. 

• First, I feel quality has suffered, and still suffers. 
• Second, many of the old Magik patrons unsubscribed the last few months (and have been largely supplanted by Vainqueur ones since) and the readership, already small, is down. 
• And finally, there is the red dragon in the room. 

I now regularly receive offers mattering to Vainqueur, and between the Patreon and surprisingly good Kindle sales, the adventures of the best dragon in the world have become a part-time job. A part-job I would like to focus on more strongly, which includes producing more chapters for it. 

Full disclosure there: I think it says something when 'Vainqueur the Dragon' on average sells more in a day on Kindle, than 'Spells for Sale' did since June; and new Magik chapters bring in twenty times less views than Vainqueur's nowadays.  

I am not dropping nor cancelling Magik; especially since the story is in its last volume, and I wish to close the door on that universe for good. But updates will become more random and happen when I feel inspired rather than every Wednesday or so. 

Starting with January, Magik Online will become a hobby, and Vainqueur my main writing focus. 

Since I will no longer keep a consistent schedule for Magik Online and that weeks may go on between two updates, it doesn't feel right for me to plug that story to the Patreon any longer; or at least in the form of the current benefits. 

So... yeah. I will be removing most of the Magik benefits from the Patreon in January; choose your quest will be added to the general tier 1 poll (and I may still accept suggestions on Discord), and free ebooks will remain part of the general bundles. 

I will perfectly understand if those of you who subscribed for Magik alone unsubscribe from the Patreon (and as mentioned earlier more than a few already did); I am grateful for supporting this adventure, and I am sorry I couldn't keep producing regular, quality content for it. You can as well request a Magik account on my main website if you want one. 

Once again, I want to say thank you for the support you showed me, and while it may take a while longer, Magik will have its ending in time. 

- Closing words

Once again, thank you for supporting me through 2019. It's been a year with its ups and downs, and most importantly, you have changed my life for the better, and I am grateful for it.
