Sacred Symbols, Episode 395 | It Never Made Much Sense

The Ubisoft that we knew is dead. In its place, a new structure has emerged, a federalized series of five "Creative Houses," each with its own studios, IP, revenue flow, and responsibilities. Ultimately, it's the new Ubisoft's way of giving their employees all the leeway they need to make great stuff. But then again, you know what they say about getting too much rope. Will the once-great French publisher survive and thrive again? One thing's for sure: The old way of doing things has long been a nonstarter. Other news this week includes a March 5th release date for Marathon, the spinning-off of Sony's TV business, more Xbox games en route to PS5, cumulative 2025 software sales data for the American market, and more. We then end things -- as we always do -- with six listener inquiries from our beloved audience. When should we expect word on Persona 6? Will we replay Returnal in preparation for Saros? How should Naughty Dog navigate the choppy marketing waters surrounding Intergalactic? Will Colin survive the upcoming winter storm?

Hell yeah! Shout out to Chris for trying out Jak & Daxter! Naughty Dog's best series. We need Jak to return.

PuppiesOnParade

I think it’s fine considering we can look back at this and know Colin was right

Correction (only because I’d love it to be true) - only Jak came to PS4, they ported the PS2 releases (and not the HD PS3/Vita releases). Ratchet and Clank trilogy and PS3 games are NOT on PS4/PS5. Recently the Sly Trilogy (not 4) got an Implicit Conversions PS4 and PS5 versions last year. The Ratchet PSP games have come to PS4/PS5 but not the original or future trilogies, so sad…

Anyone else sick of the constant lecturing about intergalactic?

Bailey Callis

The P6 talk is always weird to me. Like they didn’t release Metaphor in 24. Chill.

If you think my skills for holding burritos together are impressive, you should see what else these hand can do

BrohemianGrove

I’ve honestly personally gotten excited for it but my (maybe) harsh opinion is that we really shouldn’t be giving bungie too much credit. They now are doing the BARE MINIMUM. They don’t get a comeback story for NOT PLAGIARIZING. If Marathon comes out and it’s technically a 9/10, to me it’s still a 7 at most because of how they fucked up a good game so badly. It’s definitely better but I don’t think marathon is out of the doghouse in the way chris is talking about. I barely think people are excited.

1000% it’s insane to take off the foil of the burrito. Former Ca resident for 29 years and I can concur, the foil holds its together and you peel off your designated eating parts as u go.

Not even 3 minutes after posting this, Colin starting talking about Lock… so nevermind! 🙃

ThreeEyedCyclops

So why not hire Lockmort to handle all of the streaming stuff as well as other things? I mean the man is losing his job to AI lol.

ThreeEyedCyclops

They could do a Hitman: World of assassination type game for Splinter Cell and still be a service game

Moistescarjoe

When God of War introduced QTEs as we know them? (I know it’s not the very first to do it, but) this is Shenmue erasure.

BRING OUT THE OLIVES

Got to move again today. Thanks for entertaining me boys!

IronLion44

I have never left the foil on a burrito or a wrapper on a burger
