Greetings Dukes, I feel like people are severely over estimating what these steam machines will do. Most of my friends are the casual console market, the people who buy one or two games per year and rarely play anything other then their yearly sports game and COD. I've asked them all about it since the announcement and none of them even know what steam is except one who had heard of steam but thought it was a PC game. Unless Valve starts getting into the broader market the average consumer isn't going to pick a up a console from a company they've never heard of. Have a, "people really need to get out of their bubble" kind of day!

2025-11-19 16:24:45 +0000 UTCSup Dukes, I’m a few weeks late on this one but this is the first time I’ve heard Cog say something that shook me to my core. What do you mean you and Hoeg can’t tell the difference between a remake and a remaster? (????) I can’t even fathom how this could be. One involves nicer visuals via updated textures (Oblivion), and the other often involves changes to quests, game feel, storyline, voice acting, etc (Ratchet & Clank 2016). I don’t mean to come at you Cog, no disrespect, we love ya man. I just NEED to hear Matty’s take on remake vs remaster because to me this difference is usually obvious. The one example I could think of where it might blur the lines would be Demon’s Souls due to the remarkable faithfulness of the remake, but even that has a different voice cast, new weapons, updated rolling mechanics, moon grass weight, etc. Please talk to me here, I feel I’m going crazy. Have a “Is this a new car or just a paint job?” kind of day
