Hey Dukes! Another rambunctious week in the world of Window Gaming, I mean Microsoft Gaming, I mean Xbox! I’ve noticed a lot of vitriol towards Amy Hood, but it’s interesting no one seems to pay attention to Tim Stuart, if you didn’t know who that is, it’s Phil Spencer’s right hand man for the last 10 years, and Xbox CFO. He would have advised and signed off on financial decisions during Phil’s tenure, knowing where we land in 2025, do you think he should have pushed back more against Phil? All the best MK

Hello knees cracking when you stand up Dukes, Can someone explain the legal rigmarole between Xbox and their former deal with Insomniac? How is it remotely possible that Playstation is able to get Forza, Gears, and now Halo before Sunset Overdrive? It's crazy and doesn't make sense. It's 11 year anniversary was on the 28th, and you'd think Microsoft would be jumping to try and get that game over to the PS5 or even the Switch 2, so what's the hold up? Have a 'Xbox not including the Multi-player in Campaign Evolved means they have something live service planned, but i can't prove it yet (Dokes staring face)' kind of day.

Don't ever say another man's Jutsu is enormous

Dear Defiant Darling Dukes, I've seen a lot of the buzz around the prospective future Xbox that will run full Windows with a console-like application on top. Not to be negative, but I cannot get excited about this approach; has anyone used Windows 11 recently? Has anyone tackled Microsoft's current software output on a day to day basis? Windows 11 is still a hodge podge of legacy Windows 7 applications like Control Panel, UWP apps from the Windows Store, and modern Win32 apps that are bloated and unoptimized. Teams, News, Calculator, Phone Link, OneNote, Copilot, Edge, it's a mess! I don't believe current Microsoft has it in them to make a good, consumer friendly interface that manages to successfully sweep all of this under the rug and provide a cohesive, couch-ready gaming experience that people expect from a device brandishing the Xbox name. I can't help but feel this is going to be a mess that only does further damage to an Xbox brand that is already in the dirt. What are your thoughts, and will you be willing to put up with the Windows jank going forward on your Xbox devices in the name of multiple storefronts and GamePass? Have a "this OneDrive notification just took me out of my immersive gaming experience" kind of day.

Greetings my fellow throatcoaters, picture this: the year is 2027. I’m playing the brand new Fable on my 1399€ Next Box Series Sigma via the Xbox Game Pass ad tier. I’m trying my best to gentrify the neighborhood of my local medieval village but every 40 minutes or so an ad reminds me of the importance of a pension fund so my decrepit, atrophying body may still experience the joy of being a japanese high school student one final time whenever they surely announce Persona 6 in 2028. Anyway, after outpricing the vile low-income woodworkers from my beloved village, I decide to sneak into the next troll cave only to regrettably discover that this area is Game Pass Ultimate exclusive! Frustrated, I click on the “unlock with ad” prompt and grab me a grasshopper smoothie while voluptuous anime fox women tell me I can get 200 free pulls if I “just chase some tail now!”. Baffled, I sit out another two ads until finally, the troll cave opens. But something feels wrong. I feel deflated and weirdly distracted. I quit the game and after some doomscrolling through the Game Pass catalogue, my eyes yet again fall onto the two barely clothed anime fox ladies located on the sidebanner of the UI. Yet neither their grotesquely shaped proportions nor the brightly colored “200 free pulls” are what drew me to it. The words “100% ad free” were what my vacant gaze rested at. So dukes, is the future of Xbox turning us into the product or are we all just going to chase tail at some point? Have a - I’m trying to kick the village chickens but my Xbox AI assistant won’t stop reprimanding me - kinda day.

Hey Beef Cake Cog and Lean N' Mean Matty, It was only a matter of time for Halo to head over but a toxicitly positive 343 community manager gaily (meaning lighthearted) frolicking with PlayStation shirt on felt a full circle moment. The poster child of constantly fucking it up gets to celebrate Xbox giving up the console space. The whole things feels mean to the Xbox faithful. Your future console is going to cost a mortgage payment and it'll have no exclusives. Spenser, Bond and the Ass Master keep their jobs while pushing studios to create a 30% profit margin. Seems pretty fucked up. Have a "redefining what being a Xbox fan means" kind of day!

Found Waldo In Bed With My Wife

Dear Dukes Evolved, Our good ole pal Philly Spence recently stated their primary use of AI was moderating voice and text chat and the company has delegated the decision on how to use AI to the teams. He finally insinuated there wasn't a top down mandate saying it was not a path to success.. So, how long before we find out there is in fact a top-down mandate? In all seriousness, does this quell some of the AI hysteria? Have a I bet AI could have written better dialogue in Dragon Age The Veilguard kind of day.
