Just gotta say, love Chris

Fer Gonzalez

I rarely post on here but have followed Colin since Beyond ep. 372. To be honest, I didn’t even realize the comment Chris made on Twitter/X was a thing until I listened to the Podcast. While there may have been context I missed, the comment itself seemed like nothing and I take Chris at his word in this episode. Plus, it would be kind of wild to let go of Chris for an innocuous Tweet when Last Stand started because Colin had to leave Kinda Funny over something very similar. It would be a bit ironic and I’m glad Colin stands by him.

This is the first comment I’ve ever made after being a long time listener but to let go of Chris would countermand the very values you have espousing for a while here. I don’t have social media accounts really for this exact reason nor will I ever. I agree with a lot of what Chris said on this podcast, with the exception of social media not being reality. While not grounded in reality, it is THE reality for a lot of politicians, companies, etc who are only concerned about public image. If people leave then they can leave. Your show will survive based on the quality of content and your commitment to it. Not because you don’t bend the knee to temper tantrums. Everyone here seems to want to cast stones.

The Colin I've known for 15 plus years would stand by his friends

Hard disagree on the commentary that Chris was "making light" or "flippant" and "glib" that someone died vs what was a meta commentary about Thoughts and Prayers. I feel like thats a product of a partisan lens that would also produce a knee jerk reaction such as Chris was "celebrating this." So we disagree. Please, I'll call on everyone with the means to try and up your subscription, gift a sub, or share this podcast(not this episode) with friends who may be interested

I dip in and out of my paid membership. Dipping back in to support Chris not going away.

I think the people who are more upset were fans of Snark Tank. If you listen to Chris' show, you'd understand Chris' actual viewpoint clearer. Knowing Snark Tank, it makes the tweet less innocuous and much more divisive. Essentially the tweet reads as if Chris is saying "Good riddance Lulz" about the murder of a political opponent. The people who think is more innocuous believe that he was making a statement on gun control and how it is always ignored. Chris says it's the latter, but I don't know if he should be taken at his word when you listen to his podcast. Every single episode since the election has been pretty much cherishing political violence and the death of right wingers while pretty much talking about them as subhumans scum. They are very Alex Jones Esque but about fellow American people instead of Demonic hidden power structures in the highest rungs of government and business.

I was thinking the same, at least for a few months

Whole lotta nothin' drama about a fairly innocuous tweet. I'll up my Patreon to offset a leaver or two. Standing with Chris and glad you did too.

I am... confused? I don't even know how this was this divisive of a Tweet. The only way I can interpret this is Chris being upset/showing commentary on how flippant and unconnected society is with reality, and I think his comments reflected that. I think it would have been a terrible business decision to remove Chris from the show. I have been a patreon supporter of Colin since he started Kinda Funny (with a couple months break here and there), and I became more staunch after he was ostricized and kicked out of his own company. I think in the long run you will gain more respect for seeing this with a level head and having 'cooler heads prevail' is you said, Colin. I hope the numbers dont actually look too bad on the back-end, because this is not a worthy reason to be this upset; be upset with the shooter, and how we have gotten to this place, not with Chris who was commenting on that.

Murder is awful. The whole vilifying of a comedian making an ill timed joke is so overblown I thought I was back in 2017 watching people screaming around Colin’s tweet. How fucking stupid, grow a backbone and let shit roll off you if you don’t like it. This podcast regularly mocks the death of many, makes a billion suicide jokes and regularly says non PC terms. Get over it and delete your twitters.

Neely 4x4

I’m not going anywhere whether Chris stays or leaves.
