Sacred Symbols, Episode 376 | We Are the Same, Whatever We Do

Name any random PlayStation IP from the days of yore, and people will claim to want it back. One such franchise is Sucker Punch's long-dormant Sly Cooper trilogy, the third game of which is now 20 years old. (And yes, we got a fourth Sly game from Sanzaru in 2013, but it's not like many of you played it.) A recent interview indicates there are very few people at Sony's Washington-based studio interested in returning to the Thievius Raccoonus, and perhaps for good reason. After all, they want to sell actual units. We discuss! Plus: New PlayStation 6 rumors percolate in the wild, Bend is apparently hiring for a multiplayer title, precious details about Naughty Dog's Intergalactic emerge, and deep sales information has been released about PlayStation's historic software sales here in the US over the last 30 years. Then: Listener inquiries! Will the Hollow Knight: Silksong pricing drama ever end? Should Media Molecule invest in the 'cozy game' revolution? Is Marathon even worth being excited over at all? Can we help ingratiate the younger generation into the psychosis of Sacred Symbols?

I really can't fathom how someone would leave over that tweet. That seems overly sensitive to me. I may not agree with Chris politically at all times, but I personally love him on this show.

Ive never struggled through any political discussion on any show, but Sheesh this one was tough. I'm downunder so less impacted but watch more US punditry than most. Nobody should get shot the way you guys put up with it. Seriously, gun nuts rush out to celebrate the second amendment when shootings happen like it's 4th July. I don't understand why Republican pundits get to joke about recent Democrat assassinations without their hypocrisy being called out now. Charlie espoused positions loudly that were objectively hideous. It's not opinion, sorry it is fact. It's not hard to just have empathy for and curiousity about others. As a gay lefty, I have always felt 'safe' (for what it's worth as an audience member) in the presence of Colin's social progressiveness whilst being curious about his fiscal conservatism. It's always been clear Dustin is the kind of Christian living actual Christian values. It should be obvious Colin's prior experience would disincline him towards perpetrating the treatment he once received. What is this Netanyahuesque expectation? Yes that one is an obvious call by now too, sorry. I'm late to this cast and comment, cos of a new job. Have money will upgrade. Now. Don't get shot on stage gents! Get Ur asses downunder. Come for the nuance, stay for the gun laws.

Kirk was first and foremost a free speech advocate, which means people get to say all kinds of odious shit if they want to. If you support Kirk and you’re calling for Chris’s head over a joke, then you’re either a hypocrite or you really don’t understand what Kirk was about. Neither Colin nor Chris should be put on trial for this crap.

I was surprised that Chris’ tweet controversy was handled so awkwardly on this episode. I expected Colin to more deftly handle a situation like this considering what he’s been through. Oh well, I still love you guys and I’m glad the bands not breaking up!

Colin seems disillusioned with first party (mostly) and I am completely with him.

I've been a free listener for 3-ish years. Finally subscribed to show my support for a fellow Chris. Free speech doesn't just apply to the side you already agree with. The reaction to a 3-word mildly-offensive tweet is is insanely overblown.

Also glad to see The Finals getting more love. Best FPS on the market right now. It's the only game that actually feels like it's doing its own thing.

I have never commented on anything here before. This is the first time I am writing anything publicly on here, even though I have been a patron for around 5 or 6 years now. I just honestly wish this community, and the United States as a whole could just come together and be done with all this hate and arguing. Chris annoys me sometimes. I tend to not agree with a lot of his beliefs, but he is allowed to have those beliefs. That is what is supposed to be great about this country. Unfortunately, it seems like people on both sides have forgotten that. Just because he said something some of us didn't like, doesn't mean this whole community should be blown apart. Colin and Dustin both told him how they felt about it. Hundreds of us are telling him how we feel about it, and that should be it. Like they said on the show, you don't like it and you really can't accept that he said something maybe he shouldn't, then go, but I won't be one of the ones leaving. In the grand scheme of things, what he said was way more mild than some of the sick things I see people doing and saying out there. You could hear it in his voice that he is not one of these sick people cheering for this. You can tell he is genuinely upset by all the violence that has been happening. I'm bad at this. Part of the reason I never write in, but I felt like saying something. This show wouldn't be the same without Chris and I hope everyone can just eventually see eye to eye and move on from this.

I dont personally find the tweet that appalling, certainly in bad taste, but I also find most of what comes out of Chris' mouth to just be noise. The one thing I would bring up is this idea of "blowing up the show", there is definitely a group, maybe a large one even who are like me, literally became a patron once Dustin joined as there was finally enough competent voices to listen to on the podcast. I support Last Stand in spite of Chris, nothing against him personally, but I would never specifically give money to just him, I support it for the shows and am here to listen to almost everyone other than Chris. Sure you would lose some if he went, but the show would continue just fine and you guys would do just fine going forward. Keep on keeping on I suppose
