Im at the end of Chained Echos and it sounds a teeny bit similar with mechs and it being an rpg. I may have to jump in when it releases. Or at the least put it into my back log for now. But I think I’m sold.

I whispered to my brother next to me, “dude there’s Tony Hawk.” Then my brother just yells “Mr. Hawk! Mr. Hawk!” He looked around so I know he heard him, but then he paid his tab and quickly left. Hahaha me, my wife and my brother all still laugh about that story to this day. Any time Tony Hawks name comes up my wife and I yell to each other “Mr. Hawk!”

A handful of higher ups probably made a lot of money despite their terrible business acumen. Luckily they live in an era where they don’t need to scapegoat the workforce anymore as the general population do it for them, idolising corporate greed and confusing wealth with intelligence.

Publishers/developers over-hired on a gamble there will be a high enough retention rate on new consoles owners which, obviously, didn't work out. These layoffs are on executives and stockholders complete lack of risk management. Also, dick riding companies is lame

When demand increases, companies naturally hire to meet it; they can't ignore potential profits. Gene's argument seems to suggest companies should either not hire for increased demand and lose out on profits, or hire and then guarantee jobs even when demand drops. This doesn't make sense. It's a misunderstanding of basic economics just to signal virtue about lost jobs. No one is owed a job when demand decreases—that's unrealistic. Why aren't the new hires also blamed? They should understand that a demand spike during the pandemic wouldn't last forever and shouldn't assume job security indefinitely. Companies won't offer permanent contracts; it's up to individuals to make wise job decisions and have backup plans. This isn't simply a matter of "corporate execs bad, employees good."

I played XBCX on Wii U up until you get the mech and was disappointed in the game overall that I dropped it there. Gene sold me and got me hyped for XBCX and I'm likely gonna be there day 1 for it.
