I'm finally playing through Alan Wake 2 and I'm shocked at how high quality this game is. The callbacks to Control and Alan Wake are masterfully done as well. I really love what they're doing!

This is the essential part of the conversation. It is not a problem to create 5, 10, 15 hour Triple-A games. The problem is selling them for 70$. And btw. it should not.

I wonder if instead of thinking about game size in the context of length, devs are limited by the idea of a linear story and are working within a traditional framework. I don’t know the cost to develop AAA games like returnal or deathloop but I’d imagine it was relatively cheap compared to some games. I agree many games overstay their welcome and don’t need to be so long, but maybe devs can consider other ways of structuring their games. Idk the cost of Judas for instance, but it seems to have a different kind of structure to how it’s built and how the game story progresses. Idk. Just interesting to think about.

It's tedious but you don't have to wait hours or even minutes. Chris get a Globular Cluster for the VR2, it's a game changer. Helps quite a bit with the weird day drinking-esqe headaches. I tended to get that way too but now I can play Pistol Whip for a couple hours without issue.

2024-12-07 00:45:10 +0000 UTCnot sure if I should even say much of anything, but when you guys got to the whole relationship situation, I’ve been in quite a few relationships and I’ve had certain issues with some folks from being physically harmed by drunken antics/being hit in the back of the head a few times here or there.. but yeah, with the most recent relationship, it was my longest relationship going on almost 5 years since we started hanging around with each other during Covid, lines were crossed, and we basically fell into a relationship while I didn’t put a label on it, she did.. me finding out about a year or two in and she introduced me to her boss as her boyfriend which is on me for not full on thinking we were steady.. though with the recent political climate, she’s a heavy left, leaning individual, was a door knocker for Bernie.. while I tend to be more of a libertarian/independent with right leaning sensibilities.. finding myself trying to calm her down and telling her to basically wait it out to see if anything she is apparently trembling in fear over is possibly not a thing to be that concerned about... then being told that I do not have the right to tell her how to feel in which I wrote like three paragraphs but before she could read it retracted everything since this was through messenger and probably should’ve been a phone call, but it exploded pretty quickly and she just stopped and telling me that I was hurting her for what she believed to be some kind of moral compass definition.. basically not even asking me who I voted for even though I did vote the opposite of her and point blank, stating why to the point that she almost didn’t vote blue.. just assuming immediately that I voted the way I did even though I probably would’ve put a spin on it and just say something else to not have to deal with it as I’ve voted for Gary Johnson and the last female libertarian even though I didn’t completely agree with her stances on a lot of things, but seemed like the best choice at the tim.. yeah basically saying that she had hurt me physically a few times just because she occasionally with Lou’s that emotionally and act like a doting mother trying to keep me in line by squeezing my hand way too hard suddenly.. never telling her that there were so many times where I practically almost walked out of the house that she had squeezed so randomly hard and is basically biting the bullet and not wanting to turn it into a bigger issue at the time.. brought it up this time. To which she pretty much put it down as well she said she was straight, done. Just the word done and hasn’t talked to me since.. I have sent her messages to which she has not responded and has not even looked at them.. as I said, we’ve been dating for almost 5 years, she was there for me when I had to check into the hospital with Covid because it turned into pneumonia and people giving me crap for wanting to take early morning walks to at least get out, basically making it worse, but yeah, G helped me with getting fruit and other things that I couldn’t take care of for my isolation issues.. before DoorDash became an idea in the money department.. chest Ramm now but yeah, not sure how to go about the whole thing even though I’ve had a lot of folks tell me too just go with it and leave her alone or a few people that knew us mutually since we worked in the same area just different jobs/companies.. luckily not in the same situation anymore, but her living about a half hour north of me in NH.. jess kind of puts me at a weird spot since I used to basically live in the same town as all my other exes and we could at least talk or be friends and in this situation it looks like completely burn that bridge. Not sure if she’s going to calm down if things get better or if she’s just going to go down the blueanon tunnel some more since she keeps posting some random crazy lefty stuff which no one has actual evidence for, but it just gets more convoluted as we still have each other on Facebook and share multiple accounts for streaming.. mostly mine while also sharing a BJ’s account, mine.. that was kind of the therapeutic putting out there, but yeah, not sure if you guys have heard of anyone in one of the situations where the politics somehow divided people you know or heard of..? Long I know, sorry.
