The real problem is that there are only 2 parties in the US and every topic under the sun has to be classified into one of the two buckets. It's madness that got out of hand with the advent of 24 hrs news channels and now is worse than ever with social media. People SAY they want objective coverage but they can't stand the cognitive disonance of positive news about "the other side". In that landscape, journalist find the need to pander to one of the buckets.
