Constellation, Episode 94 | Food Collaborations, Superheroes, Traditions, Hometown Pride

Welcome back, true believers, to another action-packed episode of Constellation. We join our heroes once again as they assemble for yet another round of exciting and dynamic conversation! The mighty Chris Raygun is the first to jump into the fray with a discussion about food collaborations. From Krabby Patties at Wendy's to Supreme branded Oreo Cookies, when two companies join forces to market and sell their culinary wares, are we hungrily forking over our money or do we tend to steer clear of these brand name food mash-ups? The next courageous crusader in today's fearless foursome, David Scott Jaffe, would like to discuss superheroes. From the pages of the comic books that defined our youths to the TV and feature film adaptations that continue to stimulate our imaginations today, which costumed crime fighters do we love and cherish the most, and which simply can't scale the heights of our affections? The third selfless champion stepping up to defend podcast audiences from stale and boring conversation, Brad Ellis would like to engage the gang in a talk about traditions. Which frequent or even daily rituals and routines have we embraced, and which annual traditions have we enjoyed upholding with family and friends? The last of this week's fearless foursome, Dagster Moriarty wants to ask his companions about hometown pride. Do we have strong feelings of love and loyalty for the places where we were born and raised? Or do we perhaps have more pride in the cities or towns that we've decided to call home later in life? Thank you for listening!

Those old McDonald’s glasses used lead paint

Glen Yelenovic

Chris's absolute shock killed me.

Bailey Callis

What's he have to pitch?

Bailey Callis

Chris loves spouting off opinions from youtube essays. The spiderman dialogue hr comment is directly from Whitelights video on spiderman 2.

I live in a town where you only twenty miles east or west where it’s carried by Pepsi one way and coke the other

Chroniclesofdj

Have to say I’m starting to fall in love with Jaffe.

Nick Gagas

Born and raised in South Orange County and I was constantly told throughout my childhood by my parents and all other adults that I live in the best place in the world. I still live there and it’s only been more solidified in my brain to be true. San Clemente is the greatest place in at least America.

Tanner Denso

Only 6 minutes in and Jaffe has been let loose 😂

Cyprus Davis

Another way for big industries to ease away from means of ownership amongst consumers

Bartevious

Yo Jaffe just want to say thank you for shouting out us family-less people. Unfortunately my family has never been close to one another and after some back-to-back deaths we separated even further. I don’t have many holiday traditions because of it. Might check out your Thanksgiving stream!

Diddy’s Dong Quest

Jaffe, I’m always thrilled when you’re on any Last Stand show. When I see you’re on the billing, the episode immediately goes to the top of my listening order. Love watching your channel live streams, but you interacting with the Last Stand crew is great. Wouldn’t be opposed to you having something more regular here. Take care!

Stray_Bullets

So in Australia, Burger King is called Hungry Jacks. Hungry Jacks released their version of a Big Mac, called a Big Jack, and were sued by McDonald's yet someone they won the suit, and are still selling the Big Jack today

Luke Trewarne

Jaffe has killed me in the first 5 minutes 😂😂

Luke Trewarne

And ask you, if you know if anyone's available 😂, while I have your attention tho, you often talk about shit talkers in the comment sections, I just wanna say man you bring alot of joy to many of us. Thank you ❤️

As long as there is a version where my old curmudgeon ass can pay to not have them, I'm good with it lol. Otherwise...I will curse your name EVERY time I see another ridiculous perfume or boner pill ad. Forever. (okay so you won't feel it, but in my mind....you're so fucked)

Lou & Rei Loper

I think they are full up with shows but if they ever want a morning game centric live call in show of chaos and love, they know who to call. And if that person doesn’t answer ,then I hope they’ll think to call me :).

David Jaffe

Sure and I don’t think the option of an ad free experience should vanish. However, I also have zero issue with a less expensive or even free ad version of a game. Ideally, the game would be ‘edited’ for ad breaks by the devs and the ads you see are targeted so you’d be getting ads for things you like.

David Jaffe

Jaffe, quite a large number of subscription services offer a tier where you can pay to not have ads. I can't think of a worse way to play something like GoW or Last of Us, and have a goddamn insurance or perfume ad show up immediately following a serious/moving scene. Games have a baked in pay to skip ads feature, buy paying for the game haha. (for reference, I'm in my 40's, no idea how kids would respond)

Lou & Rei Loper

Get Jafe on snarktank right away

sweenystaint

McDonald's fully divested itself from Chipotle in 2006.

JustInsane

One of my favorite stellys in a while

Adam Martinez

I agree.

Russell Robinson

Fun fact Dr Pepper is actually owned by Keurig! In some circumstances they will actually distribute the soda themselves under Keurig Dr Pepper, but it is common for them to just franchise it out on a case by case basis if it’s easier. For example in Lafayette, LA it’s distributed by Pepsi, but in Baton Rouge the next major city over its distributed by Coke. This has been your autistic fact of the day.

pudge

I said “What?!” at the exact same time as Chris when Dagan revealed that Chipotle is owned by McDonalds. That doesn’t feel like it should even be allowed

Jared R

The first 10 minutes of this episode was the most wild start to a podcast I ever heard

RIPIT

Jaffe really elevates constellation. I'm just here to ask for it again, jaffe needs to host a show on last stand media.

Beaver diva

Awesome lineup

Caleb Peacock

I love that we get this within 5 minutes to start an episode. Completely off the rails and we’re loving every minute of it.

Tom Gentry

Idk why but I cracked up when Chris said “I agree” to himself 😂😂 great episode yall!

Johnny Lamotte

God I love Jaffe.

Kenneth Koepnick

Patreon RSS feeds seem to be spotty lately. This one 5 hours later and not popping in my podcast app is a little much though.

Greg Horsman

Not even ten minutes
