Defining Duke, Episode 195 | Xbox Is FINALLY Getting Some JRPG Love...

Today, the Dukes dive into both the State Of Play and Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2024 presentation. With the State Of Play, much was announced for the Xbox platform! As for Tokyo Game Show, Xbox is showing that developers of all sizes are looking to support the "challenger brand." While the presentation was absent of any major reveals, games such as Threads Of Time or the long desired Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster did get us excited! Beyond the minor showcases, we also dive into the latest for Assassin's Creed Shadows where the writing is on the wall here with Ubisoft. It's clearly a do-or-die situation for them and based on their recent statement to investors, this game absolutely must perform. Will the delay help and how deep do Ubisoft's issues run? We get into just that plus a new Yakuza game, Xbox's 25th anniversary, Metaphor Re:Fantazio's demo, and much more!

Yeah mostly nixes I have learned that recently also. Makes my point even stronger. Heck, Nintendo remasters every game under the sun, this 10$ upgrade, which is pretty robust, doesn’t hurt anyone imo

2024-09-28 21:55:01 +0000 UTCAs far as I understand, the H:ZD remake was to be in line with the Netflix series coming but that got pushed back indefinitely after the scandal. I wasn’t on board with the ZD remake until they actually showed it off. It looks great. FW looked much better than ZD and now they’re both on the same visual level. For a $10 upgrade, I ain’t mad at it. But, I replayed ZD all the way through including the DLC before FW so I have no intention of ever playing it again. Didn’t even think of the AC Black History Month connection. That is something. 😅 Avowed delaying and adding 60 frames at launch would be a nice way to curve a delay. I like Metaphor but I can already tell I don’t love it like the Persona series. The setting, music, and characters don’t vibe with me. #DDTGS

Especially when so many people seem to pine for them adding more Japanese focused content. Wonder if we're getting our expectations spoiled my leaks/similar because you come away not surprised.

If you’re a fan of the game like I was with tlou 2 then just get the 10$ upgrade. And if you don’t want pay the 10$ you’re still allowed to play your original copy with backwards compatibility.
