All those numbers are nice. In reality it will result in slightly more colorful grass in the distant background if you sit one foot away from your TV. Oh and some newer games will run at higher FPS for about 12 months until you're right back where you started choosing between fidelity and performance.

great point on part 3, FF7R is the whole reason i upgraded to start with

i'm just waitin' to see some DF comparisons before I decide on the value of this console. as someone who has never owned a PS, I am strongly tempted to get the PS5 Pro though.

This was an amazing episode and allowed me to geek out on some new tech. Please have more of these. I would also greatly appreciate any AAA game developers you have access to that could do breakdowns on some famous games <3 <3

Moore's Law is a fckn boss. wish we saw more of him!

Yeah, seriously. One breath they say inflation and international markets are keeping the price of consoles high, the next they’re saying Microsoft charges too much for the Series S. Neither MS or Sony want to take a haircut on the price of the consoles, so neither side is doing it. When MS doesn’t cut the price, they’re overcharging, while Sony not cutting the price is justified. Come on.

Enjoyed this episode, but there was a bit too much “but xbox…” in this one. More than usual.

Hello hello everyone , best wishes

Like I'm not against buying digital either I do once and awhile. I bought Astro Bot digitally. But its the principal of it especially when the physical is cheaper. Oh the version that can be resold, will always work in my machine and looks nice on my shelf is cheaper? Sold.

I also buy physical still in 95% of cases. New games are often at least $10 cheaper here for a physical copy. And I often by second hand for an even bigger discount. And no one can remove my license/ownership for the game, ever.

What are you on about. I watched a few of MLID's videos. His latest ones on the Pro are very astute. Terms like 'grifter' are thrown around way to loosely.

Stinkling, The PS5s SSD can hit 17.38 GB/s with Kraken plus Oodle Texture, Tom brought that up and specifically said that's NOT the practical use speed but that it has very high peaks. That's not debatable, it's a fact, genuinely speaking, maybe before you shit on someone you should research or actually listen to what they said or be ready to provide evidence of their failures? SSD compression/decompression can entirely change the real "Read speed" from what the SSD says on the box and it's far more complicated for custom consoles than just "SSD box say 5.5GB/s"

Physical will not go away until digital becomes cheaper. You can almost always find a physical copy much cheaper than the digital version. Also some games end up costing MORE at launch digitally. Square Enix games are the biggest perpetrator of this. Forspoken is $93.49 on steam... so is FF7 remake. I got Rebirth for $89.99 physical where it was $93.49 digital. Explain the logic behind this? When I see that I'm glad I still buy physical.

my thoughts exactly, the same dude who came on sacred+ before and claimed the ps5 had SSD read speeds of 30gb per second? Like come on the dude talks out his ass so much i just cant.

Some one help me, why the app is asking to sign in to my YouTube account, when I have my patron account link whit Google

Digital Foundry just dropped a breakdown of FF7 Rebirth running really well on Pro at 60fps. That’s all I needed to see. I’m buying one. Already ordered a disc drive. I know FF7 Part 3 is gonna be even more demanding than Rebirth was.. So might as well bite the bullet and upgrade.

>Moore's Law Yeah I'm skipping this one. Surprised this grifter made it into Colin's inner circle
