I know I'm a niche customer because you can always stream those, but I'm a sound and fidelity nerd when it comes to my movies and TV shows. As for games? Yeah, I only have like 5 games on disc since PS5 launched. So, I get it.. but still - there are people out there that still use the disc drive for the media. Just like PS2s were bought for the DVD-ROMs, 4k Blu-ray players are still pretty expensive, and consoles like the PS5 are the reason why they continue to be expensive. No one wants to buy a player when they can buy a console that has one - well.. at least until now. Meh, that's my two cents.

2024-09-17 12:31:29 +0000 UTCDude we had the same problem. It was solved for us by taking it apart, and spreading the thermal paste back to cover the whole area. You can find a vid on youtube. Now we also put it on its side rather than standing upright. Never had the issue again.

Usually it lasts a year before it starts to randomly shut off repeatedly. I take really good care of my electronics and just got unlucky it seems. I'll def be buying a pro model when it drops

In many ways that early crusty ecosystem spurred me into a career in IT. The game is delivers in many many ways and I'm pretty sure it solidifies my own young son's love of PlayStation for life. This is a slam dunk for Sony and I hope we get another one... In say 5 years?

If it's anything like DLSS games will have sharper image quality than what PS5 is doing now and at close to double the framerate. Having fidelity mode graphics with the 60fps of the performance modes sounds great to me they should've used better examples though and the stand not being included is silly
