It pains me greatly to make mistakes that are immersion breaking. I take great pride in bringing out videos that are realistic (generally speaking) and immersive. In this particular scene, I had set up a light to soften features as well as remove unsightly shadows that didn't belong in the setting. I don't know if I forgot to enable keyframes or if I animated the keyframe correctly and just forgot to save the session before transferring it to my other PC, but the light did not animate as intended and there is some bad lighting at the end of the scene.
I'm a perfectionist at heart, and quite self-critical. I normally would scrap an entire project and start over immediately, but I have other projects in the works at all times. That just isn't possible right now. So, the scene is being released as is for now.
I don't think I would have made such a mistake normally, but sometimes life just gets the best of you and you get overwhelmed. My dog has Ostheo-Arthritis and it's gotten pretty bad. Luckily we found something that seems to be working for her and she's doing much better, but for a couple weeks we thought we might have to say goodbye and I wasn't able to think or act clearly.
I also think most people would rather have a scene that is still enjoyable over nothing at all. And I know there will be people who only see the the negatives in a scene, or just watch the scene to pick it apart over just enjoying what they have in front of them. And that's their choice. But I'm not going to punish those who want to watch it to avoid the critics for fear. That's silly. I'll always have critics, and no one will be more critical of myself or my own artwork than me.
I will be re-rendering this to fix it over the break in a couple of weeks.
