His work demands his presence over the next several Fridays, and thus I've slid (!) back into the host's chair. Joining me this week are LSM executive producer Dustin Furman, coordinator Micah Moriarty, and special guest Rick Hoeg of Hoeg Law. As always, topics vary wildly. Micah begins by talking about throwing parties and entertaining people at our home. Do we enjoy the process, or is it stressful? I go next with a deep cut (literally): Cold cuts, the glorious sliced meat that make the finest sandwiches imaginable. What are our go-tos? From there, we welcome Dustin's topic, all about our respective lives' biggest disappointments, from games, film, and TV, to work, love, and life in general. Finally, Hoeg brings up the rear with what ended up being our most-explored inquiry of the week: How we deal with fictional canon when we don't like all of it. Are we able to divorce ourselves from some of it and embrace the rest? Is "The Death of the Author" the true law of the land, or is authorial intent everything?

In fact, I am lucky (and unlucky) enough to live just a few short minutes away from this sandwich paradise. I thought you may be interested to hear some updates about the business. First of all, it moved from the building across the street from the high school to a new building right next to Paca middle school. They also opened up a second location in Patchogue. I wonder if you’ll agree with my contention that TJ’s is not really a deli though. It’s more like a straightforward sandwich shop. One last thing: next time you’re on the island try Se-Port Deli in Setauket. It’s the only place that I think compares to TJ’s, although it’s a little bit different. Take care and happy sandwiching

I remember I watched the movie Airborne a month before I moved here. I thought Allentown would be like the movie. It’s Pennsylvania and the suburbs. I thought I would be Skateboarding, roller blading and playing hockey. I moved here and this place turned out to be just as shitty and ghetto as where I came from. It wasn’t a damn suburb. I was so disappointed 🤣😂😭 One month into living here I bought my first dime bag of weed from the HS star basketball player 😂😂.

I didn't want them to do another one, and don't want them to do a third one either....but I was wrong the last time I didn't want them do one haha. You have a very fair stance. 👍

Her take was so bad it prompted me to look up what brand of meat Firehouse uses and discovered they use Boar's Head. I've been a fan of Boar's Head for years and didn't even know it.

It’s effectively a reboot to make room for ps3 players and has you doing 30 hours of repetitive side missions (recruit and loyalty missions) padding out a 4 hour main questline. The sense of exploration completely removed. Horrible horrible pacing. Top 5 most overrated games ever made

I completely agree with Hoeg on canon. Once you realize canon can be bought, sold, erased and edited on a whim, it really doesn’t matter. And once these IP enter public domain doesn’t canon go out the window?
