The 8k spiel was probably a marketing gimmick. AMD and NVIDIA try it a while back until Gamer's Nexus actually tested it and it disappeared just as quickly. Someone in Sony PR probably caught wind of something or stumbled on Gamer's Nexus and nix the idea to prevent a marketing snafu. High fidelity 1080/60 under $500 is barely a thing. Probably better off not poking the 8k bear until 4k/60 is something the PR team can say without raising eyebrows.

As someone who was hyped for Nier and played the original day 1, I FLIPPED OUT when Automata was announced years ago. More shocking than the announcement of a sequel was that the IP even beccame popular, as ended up being the case. I don't think Concord will get a fair shake at all. People are complaining non stop about psn and pc and honestly, while I understand the "Marvel writing" dislike, you can't have a quirky or comedic character without that comparison anymore. I feel like I remember people being negative or downplaying Helldivers because they didn't show anything, which meant it was gonna be bad. I don't play these games so it doesn't matter to me, but the "hot take" culture and bandwagoning always is just repeated jokes vs. any actual constructive criticism or how it can be better.

Ok so with the Metallica story, Dave Mustaine was the lead guitarist when Metallica first formed but was such a drunk and burnout they fired him abit before “Kill’em All” and hired Kirk Hammett. Mustaine wrote the mechanix (The 4 horseman) and that’s the only stamp he put on the band. He then founded Megadeth. Cliff Burton was the original bassist, who is well known for writing both Anesthesia (Kill’em All) and Orion (Master of Puppets). He died in ‘86 because of a tour bus accident in Sweden at the age of 24. The second bassist was Jason Newstad and yes his bass tracks where intentionally muted on Justice to haze him for being Cliff replacement. But he did 4 albums and Garage Days between 88-2000. Famously left the band during the movie “Some kind of Monster” which is a documentary to the shitty St Anger. They then did open tryouts for a new bassist and Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies and Ozzy) was hired with a 1 million dollar hiring bonus and has been crab walking for then ever since. Top 3 (4) Metallica albums in any order, Load (I was 15 when it released for context of why I loved it), Death Magnetic and a tie between the Black album and Puppets.

He definitely got his chance to shine more on the black album though. Honestly I'm more upset at the absolute squandering of the talent that is Rob Trujillo. Dudes a monster, listen to almost any Infectious Grooves song. Best bassist they've had and it's not even close. I'm convinced it's in his contract that he is only allowed to use 5% of his talent.
