Saying Scotland/United Kingdom is the same as people identifying with New york/ Long Island instead of the US is such a stupid comparision. I don´t mind people that are not knowledgeable about complex subjects such as this, but he is claiming to be an expert when nothing could be further from the truth.

2024-04-30 10:57:27 +0000 UTCIt's not a great comparison in my opinion. If you ask someone if they like football, everyone knows you aren't asking them if they actually play it. Most football fans have probably never played the game seriously. It's the same thing with movies, though. "Do you like movies?" just means do you like to watch them. You don't have to star in movies or direct them to be a fan. With gaming, when someone asks if you like video games or you tell them that you are a fan of video games, it is implied that you actually play them. The context is the important part. I don't think it's a big enough deal to warrant some kind of new word or category, though.

It's an amazing game but it certainly doesn't need to demand that much time from its players to feel like they get a "complete" experience. I legit needed to take PTO from work in order to make sure I finished the game. It was exhausting. And I don't know why it needed to be that way. This game could have 25% less side quest content and still be as, if not more, amazing than it is now. Some ideas: What if there's only one "grotto" to scan per zone? And one fewer tower per zone? And one less step per protorelic quest? And so on? I can't help but feel that cutting even a little bit of side content would have helped the pacing of the game so much. And the "just don't do the side quests" retort rings so hollow to me. Dude I love this game, I freaking grew up with FF, I want to see all the meaningful story content - and they went and locked some of it as the reward to most of the side quests. The FOMO was so real. More is not always better. It's gratuitous. Frankly it reeks of insecurity from the devs. Your core game is good enough as it is!

2024-04-28 18:37:12 +0000 UTCAs a person who has over 100 hours into Eiyuden Chronicle, I think most of the localization is fine, albeit there are some cringy lines. One of the lines that I didn't like, which was completely out of place, was a character named Mio that says something along the lines of "are you assuming it's a he?" when the main character calls an inanimate golem a he. I feel like there's no media that's not subject to a form of DEI nowadays. Even in the first episode of Fallout TV series, I was like here we ago, a bunch of DEI casting.

2024-04-28 12:18:28 +0000 UTCSure, lets not support a great team managing to bring back a jrpg legend, in a game that could be called Suikoden 6, as it is basically part two with modern design changes excelling them in the process (just what Yacht Club did with Shovel Knight), because of yet another internet drama. I've been playing JRPGs since the PS1, all localized and frequently dubbed to English (as PAL versions usually didn't allow for Jap. audio), and I don't give a flying f about how well they were localized from the originals - I loved the GAME. God damnit 😓. Hundred Heroes is great. I've put 32h into and cannot put it down. Perfect on the Portal 👌.

Matty said New Vegas clicked with him when he turned that on because all of the random buildings in the wasteland with seemingly menial items suddenly become very important, as do the beds scattered around. I would recommend trying that mode out to see if NV clicks with you more, perhaps. Cheers

2024-04-27 15:45:34 +0000 UTCSo Colin asked how does a "normal" person play Rebirth. Not sure how normal I am but I'll give it a go. Beat the game in about 53 hours. Finished the main story, did the side quests that had cut scenes and story to them. Did some of the open world in each region. Didn't feel the need to pop every tower or well spring, I got the general idea of it. Checked out the mini games a bit but not going for high scores. And then moved on. I don't worry about doing every single thing and my experience was worth the price when I was finished.

Can we really let slide the mini games and non main story activities- they sucked? Fake Rocket League, Galaxy shooter Chocobo trash racing. I did it all - 125 hours - abysmal. Kingdom Hearts 3 does it all better. Grandblue Fantasy Relink is better then FF16 in storytelling (my game of the year). This project is so disappointing- lazy tacked on todo things not helping Cloud and crew in development. I'd tell anyone to skip this game. Everyone's not being honest about the cornyness of chocobo retrieval and other awful intern level design choices. Chadley all things chadley. The atrocious Ai. Look at Mass Effect series...did they not learn from that team? This is the biggest SE botch in their history.

Surely I'll play the the third installment, but right now I feel like I'm hungover from being drunk on too much content. Post-Rebirth I've found solace in games like Hades, Pocky and Rocky Reshrined, and Cotton.
