Illithids are some of my favorite creatures from Dungeons and Dragons. On top of being casters with natural abilities and mind control, they have tentacles! I was very excited when Blueberg combined these together back when I first dove into VR conversions. Admittedly, it wasn't my best work, but it was very cool to bring something different into the fold. So, here is a complete overhaul of the animation.
I removed the massive clipping and changed posing, and cleaned up animations, lighting, and even the scene build itself. There's added phong for better representation of materials and textures, toned down ambient occlusion where appropriate, rim lights, and new lights in general. The scene is much softer, but still high contrast, and of course I extended the time. Mind you, it's still a pretty basic loop as the scene is very complicated. All in all, a huge difference in comparison to the original. I kinda liked the original lighting a little, actually. Just too many hard shadows and not enough rim lighting and color. Oh, and sound, anyone? There's that too.
