Being Ophelia's personal blacksmith certainly has some "massive perks".
This was a fun animation to bring into VR, but wow did I spend a lot of time on lighting and rendering! A lot of times artists, myself included, will cheat with lighting to save on resources and get a desired effect. This can be troublesome in VR, as lack of proper lighting and ambient occlusion can make objects "float". You'll see this in a lot of my old videos before I used to take the time to redo lighting. So between rendering and lighting, this was a lengthy video to setup, as I wanted to fit all the scene build props that were floating while still maintaining Onagi's original interpretation of the scene (time of day, lighting angles, etc). It frustrates me when people think I am just taking an artists video and "converting" it with a couple button presses. That couldn't be further from the truth. Regardless, it was great working with Onagi.
